On Thursday, May 20 at 7 pm, the Keene Public Library hosts a lecture on privacy in the digital age Many Americans feel their privacy is threatened by information technology and favor stronger privacy legislation. At the same time, people support the use of information technology to serve them quickly and efficiently in various ways. Can we have it both ways? If the answer is "no," then we are faced with a serious ethical dilemma. The lecture “Personal Privacy in Cyberspace” is presented by Herman T.
Tavani and it explores the issue Tavani, is the director of Liberal Studies & Professor of Philosophy at Rivier College. He is president of the International Society for Information Technology and has written or edited five books on social and ethical aspects of information technology, including Ethics and Technology.
