Real time 3D scanners. August 2010. For my FDM project, I wanted to create a form that would be nearly impossible to produce through any other method.

August 2010

I started in a program called Cinema 4D, a polygonal modeling tool. I first started with a basic dodecahedron shape. I then used the Matrix Extrude tool on all faces to create twisting "limbs", ensuring that none of them were self-intersecting. To smooth out the shape, I used a Hyper-Nurbs layer. This tool simulates a nurbs surface based on the polygonal data and allows you to specify the outputted poly count. Exploring programming in spatial art and design. nAo » Grasshopper tutorial by nao - parametrise a tower

Grasshopper is a plug-in for rhino, allowing to design with constant control over transformations made (the plugin was formerly called “explicit history”) This tutorial is destined to beginners, it is supposed to illustrate the capacities of the plugin. You will learn how to build a parametric driven tower. The tower can be twisted, bent in X,Y directions and each floor scaled depending on the bending. Click more below to see the videos Part 1 - create a shape, copy it and control nb of storeys and floorheight: Part 2 - apply the rotate component, twist the tower: Part 3 - control the twisting with a range of angles: Part 4 - Bending the tower. With this you can: -make ribs with notches -use the sliders to specify the x and y spacing of a rectangular grid or -use a custom grid (for this you just need 2 sets of lines) -specify the thickness of the material -atomatically place and order the ribs with labels for cut -use a 3d guide for construction -Run or stop the definition It has torus example inside with the custom grid option on.

Paper-fold models in Rhino+Grasshopper, can you advise, please? Hi everyone,

Paper-fold models in Rhino+Grasshopper, can you advise, please?

Folding - Videos. Origami structure. Hi, I'm trying to create an origami light folding transparent paper.

origami structure

I have it pretty clear in my mind but I'm new to gh and I'm finding some problems fixing it. I did my basic module (as you see in the picture.) Now I have to copy it, but the question is that modules must fix togheter as the paper model you see in the picture. I'm studing how to do it in kangaroo, maybe the best solution. But the question how do I fold and then fix the vertices and together? LaN / LIVE ARCHITECTURE NETWORK » Archive » GH Surface Subdivision Strategies. **SOFTlab. The piece is comprised of over 4400 separate colorful panels. It is being made possible by all of our kind and generous friends who have donated to our Kickstarter page… Follow along, watch for updates and donate if you feel like it! There are still plenty of spaces for names and messages. So far the list of communal GH thanks extends to the following (the definition’s not quite done yet… there may be more people to thank in the end): GH unfold panels. Designcoding. Example files geco. The First installment of this is showing the Path Mapper imitating some already existing components. Flatten, Graft, Simplify and Flip Matrix. There is also an additional example showing Integer Divide to which there is no existing component. For those uninitiated in the dark arts of pathmapper the component can be found on the Sets Tab> Tree Section with the icon of a red cube.
