Free Knitting Pattern L0364 Chianti Shawl. Tutorial: This Mama’s Fab Travel Chair. This fabric “high chair” is perfect for away from home dining. It’s no 5-point harness, but it helps secure them in the chair. This one was made from an old thrifted, quilted ottoman cover Gather materials: Quilted fabric for outer*, cotton broadcloth or similar for lining, Velcro. *Batting combined with broadcloth can also be used. For this one, I used a thrifted bedspread and bed sheet. Step 1 – Make pattern pieces.

All measurements include 3/8″ seam allowance. Step 2 – Add markings 2 1/4″ apart at center of each piece as shown in picture. These markings will help you place the connector piece. Step 3 – Using a single layer of lining and a single layer of quilted fabric, cut each piece out together. Curve the corners of velcro pieces so there are no sharp points. Step 4 – With right sides together, sew connector pieces together along long edges. (3/8″ seam allowance) Step 7 – Turn all pieces right side out and press. Step 8 – Top stitch connector piece 1/4″ from edge along sewn edges. Tutorial ~ Hanging Fabric Baskets Or Pockets. I know I say this every time, but I am so excited about this project!

Tutorial ~ Hanging Fabric Baskets Or Pockets

The possibilities are endless! And they are so easy – I am going to have baskets hanging all around my house in a weeks time. I am using these above my sewing desk to hold all my notions and patterns. First I will show you how to make them, then I will tell you all the ways I think you could use them…then you can tell me all the ways I never thought of! Here is the tutorial for making larger baskets with plexiglass in the bottom for great wall storage. Supplies: Fabric – how much you need depends on how big and how many you make, we’ll go over thisHeavy weight interface lining – you want it stiff enough to hold its shapeAll your sewing stuffCurtain rod or wooden dowel with brackets to hang it on Cutting out fabric: To make one basket you need two pieces identical in size.

So you have two pieces of fabric the same size right? Now you should have two pieces the same size with interfacing ironed on. Your done!

Scrap It: Patchwork Pillow. One easy way to use up odd-sized scraps of pretty fabric is to patchwork them together into an interesting pillow.

Scrap It: Patchwork Pillow

Our Scrap It Patchwork Pillow is an example of one made using a grid. The design is the same on both the front and back, however, we turned one grid panel 90º to create an interesting effect when the pillow is viewed from the side. Our pillow shows off the fabulous new Central Park collection by Kate Spain for Moda, but the concept will work with any pile of scraps you think look good together. Just goes to show there is almost no cute little scrap without a future in one of your creations. Thanks to our friends at Moda for providing the Central Park Collection by Kate Spain, which is due in stores and at online retailers this month.
