Xkcd: Second. Comics | Strangely Katie. I love comics. They’re a style of visual storytelling that spans the funny to the profound. Blending art and words in a unique way can convey messages and feelings not possible by just one or the other. Plus they’re really fun to read. Mushrooms (March 2014) A short comic about the kinds of things that can grow when left in the dark. Read >> Don’t Let Go (October 2013) A story designed to fit eight pages, set in a post-apocalyptic city. Featured in the Faction 3 comic anthology (2014). Read >> Princess Princess (February – March 2014) Amira and Sadie are two very different princesses who decide to take their happily ever after into their own hands. Awarded best book/graphic novel and shortlisted for best overall comic in the first annual Autostraddle Comic and Sequential Art Awards.

Read >> Below The Waves (Sept 2014) A story that explores what it’s like to lose something you never had, and the frustration that will surely come to future generations who can’t believe what humans squandered. Read >> Quantum Vibe by Scott Bieser, published by Big Head Press. Panel 1 Exterior view of the L5-City. It is an enormous, jumbled complex of artificial habitats orbiting at the Terra-Luna Lagrange 5 point. Caption: L5-City Nicole (from somewhere in the City): No, Mom, I'm still working at Audio-Chrome. Panel 2 Inside a concourse within one of the city habitats. A dazzling, almost incomprehensible jumble of shapes, platforms, railings, and people (themselves often of weird shapes) some of whom are flying through the open spaces in their Bubbs. Panel 3 Full-length shot of Nicole gliding along in her Bubb. Panel 4 Medium close-up on Nicole, her hand aside her face, rolling her eyes in annoyance.

Panel 5 Full-length shot of Nicole flying away from us, into what looks like a major traffic zone of flying Bubbs – something like an aerial turnpike, with no pedestrians. Panel 6 Medium shot of Nicole flying in her Bubb, we can see other people in their Bubs flying along all sides of her in a fairly tight formation. Webcomics of interest.
