The Last Question -- Isaac Asimov

The last question was asked for the first time, half in jest, on May 21, 2061, at a time when humanity first stepped into the light. The question came about as a result of a five dollar bet over highballs, and it happened this way: Alexander Adell and Bertram Lupov were two of the faithful attendants of Multivac.

Intelligent MIDI Sequencing with Hamster Control by Levy Lorenzo Abstract : This project was initially fueled by the desire to explore the MIDI protocol. It was decided that this would be accomplished by building a MIDI device. https://instruct1.cit.cornell.edu/courses/eceprojectsland/STUDENTPROJ/2002to2003/lil2/

What math classes do I take?

http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=175670 Finally, another Dover fan. :D Shilov's Real and Complex Analysis is a little dry, I think-- atleast, I couldn't follow it too well around the metric spaces chapter 'till after I took a real analysis course and read a bit of another book. (Foundations of Mathematical Analysis by Johnsonbaugh and Pfaffenberger, another Dover book with some really nice chapters on inner product and normed linear spaces with applications to Fourier Series-- definitely useful for what you want to understand. It's also got an introduction to sigma-algebras and Lebesgue integration-- especially useful if you plan on doing some probability theory in future.) However, I guess you should keep in mind that you probably won't find analysis books too easy to read unless you've had some classroom experience of watching stuff being proven; atleast, it's been like that in my experience.

Set Theory

http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/set-theory/ First published Thu Jul 11, 2002 Set Theory is the mathematical science of the infinite. It studies properties of sets, abstract objects that pervade the whole of modern mathematics. The language of set theory, in its simplicity, is sufficiently universal to formalize all mathematical concepts and thus set theory, along with Predicate Calculus, constitutes the true Foundations of Mathematics. As a mathematical theory, Set Theory possesses a rich internal structure, and its methods serve as a powerful tool for applications in many other fields of Mathematics. Set Theory, with its emphasis on consistency and independence proofs, provides a gauge for measuring the consistency strength of various mathematical statements.

Research

About HyperPhysics Rationale for Development HyperPhysics is an exploration environment for concepts in physics which employs concept maps and other linking strategies to facilitate smooth navigation. For the most part, it is laid out in small segments or "cards", true to its original development in HyperCard. The entire environment is interconnected with thousands of links, reminiscent of a neural network. The bottom bar of each card contains links to major concept maps for divisions of physics, plus a "go back" feature to allow you to retrace the path of an exploration. http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/HBASE/hph.html

Don't fret too much. I was in your shoes 9 years ago. The job market was very similar then that it is today. I had a dual degree in Physics & Math.
