Riley Blake Designs Blog: Project Design Team Wednesday~Raggedy Scallop Baby Quilt. Hi, it’s Becky at Ucreate again. I love being here and sharing my latest creation with you. This month I used the Riley Blake fabric Apple of My Eye and made a Raggedy Scallop Baby Quilt with a full tutorial just for you. ENJOY! Let’s get started! And basic sewing essentials. Start out by cutting 2 pieces of Apple of My Eye- Basket {Pink} at 40” x 28”. Now, grab a circle about the size of scallops you want. Cut it out and iron it to the fabric to cut your first of 25 scallop strips. Iron them all nice and flat and put 4 aside for the front panel. I grabbed a ruler and made sure I had the first strip straight all the way across. Now for the sewing! Start at the top and zigzag stitch the first strips. I folded the strips up and rolled them in so that I was not “wrestling the quilt top” the whole time.

Unroll and iron it all out nice and pretty. Front Panel Scallops You are going to take 4 of your extra scallop strips and place them right sides together. Back Panel…AGAIN! Don't forget to visit. I decided to try making a romper for Josiah, and I'm really happy with how it turned out! It was really easy to make, so I thought I would share the tutorial! Sorry if it's kinda picture heavy! :) I wanted a raglan style for his romper, although a regular t-shirt style would have been just as cute! A great place to find the raglan style is to trace is a blanket sleeper! I folded the sleeper in half and folded the sleeve out of the way to trace the neck and where the sleeve attaches. I added seam allowance and drew the front neckline too. I used a ruler to draw a straight line down from the shoulder seam.

Using either the blanket sleeper or an exisiting piece of clothing that fits (or measure your kiddo. Then decide on the length of the legs and draw a straight line across. Next, trace the sleeve edge where it attaches to the body. Here's what my pattern pieces look like! Here's the romper and sleeves cut out. 30+ Free Pot Holder Patterns & Tutorials: {Sewing. 2.jpg (JPEG Image, 500 × 377 pixels)
