PDF Link I found it difficult to get amphipods in New York City until I went to Turtle Pond in central park and found a murky muddy place and scooped up some water and milfoil. There were lots of small little worms and teeny tiny leechy looking things that were too small for me to photograph, but interesting to observe. I’m hoping that some of the little critters in there are amphipods and will be able to do their part to keep the biosphere balanced. When you take a break from staring at your biosphere, it’s cool to check out some of the other large scale biospheres that have existed! Mason Jars Mod Podge in Gloss (buy it here) Food coloring Ramekins to mix colors Newspaper or paper bag Mix food coloring with a T or so of water into individual ramekins. You can do any color combination you like. Add a couple T of mod podge into your mason jar Add one ramekin of color into the jar and stir to incorporate it all together With a bowl underneath, carefully twist the jar around coating the whole inside with the mod podge/food coloring mixture.

Let dry upside down on the paper Do the same with the other colors. Place the jars face down on top of wax paper and a cookie sheet into an oven, set on warm. When they're ready, they'll look clear and the mixture should lose most of its streaks.

This project is so easy, anyone can do it. Before you start making excuses, let me tell you, I’d never painted before. Never used acrylics or done art on canvas. I can hardly even draw a straight line. Now that your excuses are gone, pick your colors and your theme and let’s get started! Need some ideas? Use different kinds of sticks. Maybe leave off the bird and use butterflies. This project should take two days. Day 1, Step 1 in creating your own three-dimensional wall art: Paint your canvases with some acrylic paint. Step 2: Leave the canvases to dry and start preparing your foliage. Step 3: If you plan to use an additional color on your canvases (I mixed some white and light grey to make the moon) you can go ahead and add that.
