The one- to two-story building forms a spatial ending of the city-parcel to the south and gets rhythmend by roof terraces, which are cut in the upper floor. © Johannes Talhof © Philipp Lohöfener URBAN CONTEXT With its sloped head in the east the building reacts to the geometry of the site and formulates the main entrance.
CONCEPT AND ORGANISATION The program includes a elementary school with three classes per year and daycare facilities for six groups, a gym and an outdoor sports ground. House Sparrows - Their Mating, Nesting, and Feeding Habits. While House Sparrows may or may not be the most loved birds, they certainly are a part of our backyard bird watching experience.
Initially these birds were imported from England. Brought to the US because they were known to eat certain caterpillars that harm shade trees. One by one, other US cities began importing them for the same purpose. In less than 50 years this small bird has a range that includes the entire U.S. and well into Canada. Unfortunately, they didn't go after the caterpillars hoped for.

This is how I feel, looking back on the past few decades of environmental campaigning, including my own. This thought is prompted by responses to the column I wrote last week. It examined the psychological illiteracy that’s driving left-wing politics into oblivion(1). Twenty years of research, comprehensively ignored by these parties, reveals that shifts such as privatisation and cutting essential public services strongly promote people’s extrinsic values (an attraction to power, prestige, image and status) while suppressing intrinsic values (intimacy, kindness, self-acceptance, independent thought and action). One of the drivers of extrinsic values is a sense of threat.
