Photography is all about exposure, or the light that is allowed to be let in when a photo is taken. Learning how to adjust exposure to get the effect you’re looking for is one of the things all photographers have to eventually learn, and one of the easiest examples of this is taking a photo of a silhouette against a sunrise or sunset. In the photo above, I exposed for the sky.

When Cora’s parents contacted me for a newborn session, they said they wanted mainly lifestyle shots and not as much the cute hats and such. I was more than glad to make that happen. You know me, there is nothing I love more than capturing that love and relationship between a family and their newborn – this was the perfect opportunity to do just that.

I was so excited to get a session booked with this sweet little lady…oh how I LOVE new babies! I’m really trying to go in a more organic, natural direction with my newborn photography, so this was a great opportunity to put that into practice. I think this may just be my favorite newborn session I’ve ever done. Little Emilynn was the perfect supermodel too!

Happy Labor Day everyone! As summer comes to an end and with all the fairs going on this is an appropriate engagement session to share with you all. Jamie and Eamon are have been dating for 10 years, these guys got together back in the eighth grade! A true love story right? Well as I said with all the fairs going on and what not I thought I must do an engagement session at one. I just knew all the colors and scenes would not disappoint and boy was I right.
