Electric Vehicle Loan. Model S. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Safety Model S is designed from the ground up to be the safest car on the road, as proven by a 5-star rating in all categories of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash test.
Listen up, America: It’s time to start making mass transit free! In March, when a cloud of particle pollution settled across Western Europe, Paris took a radical approach.
The Ile-de-France region introduced alternate driving days (odd-number plates one day; evens the next) and eliminated fares on local trams, buses, trains and subways. Traffic dropped by nearly 20 percent in Paris; congestion on the Périphérique ring road fell by 30 percent at rush hour; large-particle pollution fell by 6 percent. Goodyear BH03. Helsinki's ambitious plan to make car ownership pointless in 10 years.
The Finnish capital has announced plans to transform its existing public transport network into a comprehensive, point-to-point "mobility on demand" system by 2025 – one that, in theory, would be so good nobody would have any reason to own a car.
Helsinki aims to transcend conventional public transport by allowing people to purchase mobility in real time, straight from their smartphones. The hope is to furnish riders with an array of options so cheap, flexible and well-coordinated that it becomes competitive with private car ownership not merely on cost, but on convenience and ease of use. Subscribers would specify an origin and a destination, and perhaps a few preferences. The app would then function as both journey planner and universal payment platform, knitting everything from driverless cars and nimble little buses to shared bikes and ferries into a single, supple mesh of mobility. This Airplane Will Fly Around The World Without Using A Drop Of Fuel. On Wednesday, Swiss pilots Bertrand Piccard and Andre Borschberg unveiled a plane that is set to become the first to fly around the world using only solar and battery power. Don't Privatize and Reduce Public Transit, Make It Free and Expand It. (Photo: Wikipedia)As BuzzFlash at Truthout has been beating the drum about the gloomy imminence of the disastrous impact of climate change, it is worth noting that among the larger contributors to global warming are gas-powered vehicles (think cars and trucks).
It's not just the carbon dioxide emitted by automobiles, it's the fossil fuel nightmare that has been created by expanding urban areas to exurban locations located at great distances from city centers. This, in turn, requires more inefficient use of energy (most of it still fossil fuel based) and more car use through the building of more expressways. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists: Passenger cars and light trucks represent the lion’s share of US transportation emissions and collectively produce almost one-fifth of the nation’s total global warming pollution.
All together, transportation generates nearly 30 percent of America’s global warming emissions, including more than one-third of all US carbon dioxide emissions. Thorium. Thorium is a naturally occurring radioactive chemical element with the symbol Th and atomic number 90.
It was discovered in 1828 by the Norwegian mineralogist Morten Thrane Esmark and identified by the Swedish chemist Jöns Jakob Berzelius and named after Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Thorium produces a radioactive gas, radon-220, as one of its decay products. Re-fuel Every 100 Years With the New Thorium Car. By: Amanda Froelich,

Wireless Charging Electric Buses Arrive in Milton Keynes. Eight electric buses will operate on the 15-mile number seven route, charging for 10 minutes at each end.Arriva The UK's first all-electric bus route has been launched in Milton Keynes, with wireless charging to ensure the buses can operate for 17 hour per day.
A fleet of eight StreetLite buses will operate on the 15-mile Route 7, which runs between Wolverton and Bletchley, passing through central Milton Keynes and carrying 800,000 passengers per year. The buses' batteries are topped up by wireless chargers at each end of the route, taking 10 minutes to recharge the vehicles by almost 70%. The buses will be used as part of a five-year trial aimed at proving that electric vehicles have the potential to be cost-efficient as well as environmentally friendly.
Councillor John Bint, Cabinet Member for Transport and Highways, said: "This electric bus trial is the result of over a year's careful planning, so getting bus drivers behind the wheel is a wonderful milestone to reach. Huge potential.
