These record files have circular grooves on them containing sine waves of various frequencies, amplitudes, groove depths, groove widths, and beveled groove edges. (When I say that the groove "contained" a sine wave, I mean the bottom of the groves moves up and down in a sinusoidal pattern around the record). I generated all of these files in Processing using the ModelBuilder library to export straight to STL. My first test record had 72 grooves on it, screen shots of the model are shown in figs 2 through 6 I tested two frequencies of sine waves: 1000 cycles per revolution = 555Hz at 33RPM 500 cycles per revolution = 277Hz at 33RPM I tested a few different amplitudes, depths, and groove widths for these frequencies and gave each groove a constant bevel size of 2px on each side (you can see in fig 5 how the edges of the groove flare outward).

L'attente ne devrait plus être très longue puisque l'équipe vient d'annoncer sa mise en production dans les usines chinoises. Cet ordinateur prend la forme d'une petite clé USB et dispose de 128 Mb de mémoire RAM, d'un processeur ARM 11 cadencé à 700 MHz et d'un GPU Videocore 4 capable de diffuser de la HD en qualité BluRay. Il faudra lui ajouter une carte SD pour pouvoir lancer le système d'exploitation. "Nous avons enfin une date pour le premier lot : les cartes seront terminées le 20 février" annonce Raspberry Pi sur son site.
