Fizika - pidruchnik dlya 7 klasu avt baryakhtar v. The Top Ten Tips of Texturing. One way to create dirt has already been covered, and that's photo overlays. Those are great for general wear and tear on your texture. If you want small specific details, you'll need to use other techniques. Below are a two techniques I frequently use, one for dust and dirt, and one for rust. Dust and dirt can be done very quickly with a solid brownish layer and a layer mask.

Simply put the dirt layer at the top of your stack, and paint with a low opacity and flow. You can spice things up by changing the blending mode, or to filter your dirt layer. (add noise for example). Rust is a bit more tricky. I used to handpaint rust, but it always had a bit of a cartoony look, and I was never able to get crispy rust that looks convincing and real.

That was until DennisPls shared his technique with me, which I've been using ever since. Good damage placement only requires one thing: logical thinking. That can be chipped paint, scratches, rust, etc. This doesn't only work for small borders. Texturing tutorials. Texturing for Games | Game Texturing Techniques. Let’s take a closer look at texturing, how it […] If you’re at all familiar with the movie and video game 3D pipelines, you know they’re similar. So how does texturing vary from movies to video games? Of course as software advances, so do the amount of polygons that can be incorporated into a game engine at one time.

The best way to keep the quality high, while staying withing your budget, is with textures. Texturing for games often requires some trickery on the artist’s side. Use Transparency Maps An alpha, or transparency map, is one of the best ways to create the illusion of detail, and is a widely used texturing technique in video games. Low-poly Tips 2 – Game Art Asset Optimization | CGmascot. These modeling, uv-mapping and texturing tips apply to 3D art asset work for games and similiar media. While they are best matched with low-poly 3D, they are definitely not limited to it. See also the previous collection here and the 3rd one here.

Middle edgeloop optimization & UV-mapping a character It is common to model an edgeloop running around the middle of a character. It allows mirror copying the torso – you uv-map and texture only half and duplicate to get both halves with same detail (see Low-poly Tips vol. 1 for futher explanation). However there are number of reasons why full middle loop and mirroring everything is often not the best choice. Mirror-uv-mapping everything on a character mirrored makes it look more generic. A middle cut running all through your character model means more polygons. For four (or more)-legged characters like dogs you can often forgo the middle loop at hips, too. Fake roundness with just 4 polygons – optimize asset polycount Have less seams in UV-map. Tutorial: Hard Surface Texture Painting. Tutorial: Hard Surface Texture Painting.
