Artist Creates Self-Portraits On Different Drugs, And The Results Are Insane (Photos) In what could be considered the craziest/most creative drug experiment ever, artist Bryan Lewis Saunders pushed himself to the limit when he decided to take a different drug every day for a few weeks.
Not only was he not sober, but he also drew a self-portrait of himself while under the influence of these drugs each day. Now of course, we wouldn’t ever suggest trying this at home, and we’re quite frankly not sure how this guy was even able to survive this. After all, there’s no doubt that this takes a toll on your body. From nicotine gum, to cocaine, to Zoloft, to PCP, Saunders did it all. Bryan Lewis Saunders - Self-Portraits. On March 30th 1995, I started doing at least one Self-Portrait everyday for the rest of my life.
At present I have over 8,000 of them. Like fingerprints, snowflakes and DNA they are all different, no two are the same. For hundreds of years, artists have been putting themselves into representations of the world around them. I am doing the exact opposite. Sergi Brosa Blog. The Lantern Factory. Marcello Baldari Art. Some Torchlight 2 Art By Sirio Brozzi. So Torchlight 2 is finally out!
Have you guys been playing it? It seems like the response has been overwhelmingly positive, which has been really fantastic, especially considering that the game only cost $20. Some of you might not know, but AwesomeRobo was founded around the time that I was working at Runic Games as a concept artist for Torchlight 1 and 2. The team was small, ambitions were astronomically high, and the project turned out to be one of the most challenging (Yet ultimately rewarding) experiences in my career so far.
I left Runic halfway through Torchlight 2 to pursue other opportunities, but in the 2 or so years at the company I must have cranked out a few hundred concepts to accommodate the breakneck schedule of creating an epic game with a fifth of the team size typically associated with such a production. After the break you can check out a ton of art for used and scrapped concepts I had a chance to work on during my time at Runic. Page. Mattahan. There are female athletes who will be competing at the Olympic Games this summer after undergoing treatment to make them less masculine.Still others are being secretly investigated for displaying overly manly characteristics, as sport’s highest medical officials attempt to quantify — and regulate — the hormonal difference between male and female athletes.Caster Semenya, the South African runner who was so fast and muscular that many suspected she was a man, exploded onto the front pages three years ago.
She was considered an outlier, a one-time anomaly. But similar cases are emerging all over the world, and Semenya, who was banned from competition for 11 months while authorities investigated her sex, is back, vying for gold.Semenya and other women like her face a complex question: Does a female athlete whose body naturally produces unusually high levels of male hormones, allowing them to put on more muscle mass and recover faster, have an “unfair” advantage? Harebrained Schemes. Hey guys!
Mike McCain here, I head up the art team on Shadowrun Returns. The other week all of us at Harebrained were very excited (and a little nervous!) To give you guys a first look at Shadowrun Returns in action. The response was just fantastic – your enthusiasm at seeing the game for the first time has us even more excited about making it. We’ve lots left to do, but things are really shaping up. Toxoplasm. Noah Bradley · Environment Concept Art, Illustration, and Visual Development. Art by Theo Prins - Paintings. "Sam Spratt Illustration" What, in your opinion, has been the biggest effect of the internet on art?
How do you get noticed in the contemporary art scene when there are so many artists on the internet and social media? With so much plagiarism and emulations of artworks, how do you keep your artworks so original? How do you make sure you style is distinct so that people know it is yours? How different is it selling art online then in a gallery? What are the main differences? 1-2. The Internet has allowed more people to discover art, do so easier, and thus enabled more people to be and aspire to be artists — and I think that’s neato burrito. 3-4. Well, not plagiarizing other people’s work is really the key here. It should be made having referenced the source material, materials beyond that source, references created on your own, and tied together through a technical understanding and personal treatment. 5-6.
