(He rejected 2 out of every 3 stories we wrote, I think just to keep us on our toes. Ren's Beginnings Ren's voice delivery in here is inspired by Bela Lugosi in "The Raven". My philosophy when I make commercials is to satisfy 2 customers: 1) The Sponsor I believe in selling the product first. I want to be creative, but my creativity is in service of getting the audience to like the product and want to buy it. I'm definitely not out to merely exercise my creative vision and make films that look good on my reel. Pushing the product is where I exercise my creativity. 2) The Audience I believe the audience has to want to watch a commercial for it to be effective. My commercials have a history of people enjoying themselves and remembering the product. I designed and animated the original Old Navy Cartoon Spots. Here are some of my animated TV spots. He did some experimenting in his student films, and later he animated a household of furniture in a film for the General Post Office in London. He then wondered about the possibility of animating people frame by frame. This curiosity culminated in the extraordinary parable Neighbours, in which two men behave like cartoon characters in a tale both funny and ferocious. McLaren called the technique pixillation. The term is now universally misspelt as pixilation, which has an entirely different dictionary definition.
