But on the other hand, the hand involving people who ask because they have an inkling to do it themselves, is that writing books is a topic so old and so well trod by so many famous people that anyone who asks hoping to discover secret advice is hard to take seriously.

Here’s the short honest truth: 20% of the people who ask me are hoping to hear this – Anyone can write a book. #54 – Writing Hacks, Part 1: Starting. By Scott Berkun, Aug. 28 2006 (#54) Writing is easy, it’s quality that’s hard.

#54 – Writing Hacks, Part 1: Starting

Any idiot who knows 5 words can write a sentence (e.g. “Dufus big much Scott is”). It might be without grammar, broken, or inaccurate but it is still writing. This means when people can’t start they’re likely imagining the polished precision of the finished work. For this reason writer’s block is a sham. Making Time for Creativity

As we get older, we often overlook our needs as we become caretakers of others (husbands, wives, children, parents, etc…) but I think there are some small things that we can do to feed our desire for creativity and to unleash our imagination. Some people can lose themselves in a book. Some sketch, walk in nature, build things, take on DIY projects, while others like to gaze at art in museums, take movement classes, engage in sports or dance. Some people see their lives as blank canvasses, getting a new day, everyday to explore the possibilities of a new day or chapter. Perceiving my life as my masterpiece, my own creation and work of art is great, but how do I begin? +Creativity | +Bemorecreative | +Therealbeaufly | +Keepingcreativityalive | Photo Courtesy: KROMKRATHOG viawww.freedigitalphotos.net/images.
