Make gold foil prints at home

I begged her to show me her technique as I am obsessed with anything gold lately. Materials Needed: – A laminator – Flat Gold Foil Sheets – A laser printed design on card stock Directions: Be sure to print your print using a laser printer (or make a copy in a copy machine using toner). Cut a piece of gold foil large enough to cover the text. Lay a full-sized piece of paper over the Gold Foil and feed through the laminator. Then simply peel the foil away from the print…and voila a custom gold foil print!

Milan 2016: Danish firm BIG has created a modular lighting system that can be rearranged to form different letters of a bespoke typeface.

BIG designs lettered lighting structures for Artemide

BIG collaborated with Italian lighting brand Artemide to make the Alphabet of Light, which was unveiled during an installation this year's Milan design week. A series of wall-mounted letters are formed from bent and straight elements of LED strip lights joined together by magnets, with the intention to make assembly easy for the user. "We have designed a modular system of straight and bended components of light that enables you to write with letters, be it a straight line or a curve," BIG partner Jakob Lange told Dezeen. "When the Alphabet of Light is fully developed any user will be able to customise the light for any space within minutes," he added. Two straight lights of different lengths and two curved at different angles form the base modules, which are then connected together at joints.

Just named to Inc. magazine’s “30 under 30” list of America’s Coolest Young Entrepreneurs, Babson College students John Goscha, Morgan Newman and Jeff Avallon were tossing around business ideas when they began brainstorming about… brainstorming.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they weren’t always running out of space on their whiteboard? Odesi. Dutch Design Online. Gepersonaliseerd foto behang - je eigen foto op behang. Scrapwood Wallpaper 2 by Piet Hein Eek for NLXL

Piet Hein Eek's second collaboration with Dutch wallpaper company NLXL comprises eight designs. His original Scrapwood collection was launched with the brand in 2010. This new range expands on the previous designs based on "waste furniture" to include patterns of realistic wood cross sections, beams and planks. The wall coverings have a matte finish to make them look more convincing. "We chose a new, super luxurious matte finish so the wallpaper looks even more realistic than before," said the designer. First shown at trade show ICFF in New York earlier this year, the collection will be on display during Dutch Design Week 2013 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, later this month. You know Joe and his amazing detailed design as we work together on the (sold out) 2015 edition of the calendar and he designed the front cover. Every single playing card within the High Victorian deck was designed from scratch - even the Aces, Jokers, and court cards exude the grand excess of ornamentation quintessential to the Victorian era. I’ve recently had some new people come into my life who really understand Aesthetics of Joy and what I’m trying to achieve with it. And because they understand it so well, they’re able to challenge me to think about the subject in very different ways. So a couple of weeks ago, one of these new acquaintances asked me this question, and it’s had my mind humming ever since. Graphics. @Issue Journal of Business & Design.
