Ron Paul to host a three-day festival right before the GOP convention in Tampa, Florida, Business Insider reports. The move comes one month after the RNC had cancelled the event. Some speculated that this was due to worries about the influence Paul loyalists would have on the convention, but protests and email campaigns by the Texas Congressman’s supporters (and perhaps a Rand Paul endorsement of Romney) paid off.
Paul festival organizer Bryan Siemon told Business Insider he expects between at least 30,000 and 40,000 attendees. So far, Ron Paul has not committed to attending the festival, and organizers are working on getting others in the liberty movement to speak at the event. “I think Tampa is going to be Paul Festival,” Siemon said.
