Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Background[edit] Page from the original manuscript copy of Alice's Adventures Under Ground, 1864 Alice was published in 1865, three years after the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Reverend Robinson Duckworth rowed in a boat, on 4 July 1862[4] (this popular date of the "golden afternoon"[5] might be a confusion or even another Alice-tale, for that particular day was cool, cloudy and rainy[6]), up the Isis with the three young daughters of Henry Liddell (the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and Dean of Christ Church): Lorina Charlotte Liddell (aged 13, born 1849) ("Prima" in the book's prefatory verse); Alice Pleasance Liddell (aged 10, born 1852) ("Secunda" in the prefatory verse); Edith Mary Liddell (aged 8, born 1853) ("Tertia" in the prefatory verse).[7] The journey began at Folly Bridge near Oxford and ended five miles away in the village of Godstow.

Alice was played by model Natalia Vodianova and the bizarre characters that surround her were played by various fashion luminaries like Donatella, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Viktor & Rolf, Tom Ford, Galliano, Gaultier, Lacroix, etc.
Very trendy as could be expected when you put together such fashionable folks. A complete magical and visual treat. { via Angelical Natalia } Fairytale Nation pt. IV: Vogue’s “Alice in Wonderland” Alice in Waterland. I’m that sad and ironic mixture of an Aquarius (birthday last week) who although under the sign of water, just can’t swim to save her life.
I can splash a little but not with great conviction, which means I’ll never be able to model for Elena Kalis. The Russian born photographer who now lives in the Bahamas (jealous much or what :) makes the underwater medium her thing, mixing it with with a dosage of whimsy and magic, such as in this particular series: Alice in Waterland. Amanda in Wonderland. After Natalia Vodianova it’s Amanda Seyfriend’s (she of Mama Mia fame, which btw I have so far resisted to watch) turn to step into Alice’s shoes, courtesy of photographer Mark Seliger and Vogue Italia.
