Photography II. Photography. Photography Tips & Tutorials. » A Beginner’s Guide To Photography. I’ve been writing on this site for a while now, and I’ve put together a lot of good content, but the trouble is that a lot of it can be hard to find, especially if you don’t know what you’re looking for. This post will walk you though everything that a beginner in photography should learn, and in the order that they’re supposed to learn it. Welcome to my 100th post. You should know that there is now a video version of this post, and it can be viewed here. Exposure The most basic and essential part of photography is exposure. Aperture If we cover exposure in the order that the light enters the camera, then the aperture always comes first. The scale is as follows: f/1.4, f/2, f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/11, f/16, f/22. Here is the full tutorial on Aperture. Shutter Speed After aperture, comes shutter speed. Here is the full tutorial on Shutter Speed.

Once you’ve decided how much light you’re going to let through to the sensor, it’s then time to decide how much more you need. Metering Modes Balance. Photos. 9 Wows - Cool Pictures, Cool Pics, Nature Pictures, Nature Pics. Astro Anarchy. J-P Metsavainio | Some of my best shots.

At times, promineces can erupt, escaping the Sun's atmosphere. Emission in this spectral line shows the upper chromosphere at a temperature of about 60,000 degrees K (over 100,000 degrees F). Every feature in the image traces magnetic field structure. The hottest areas appear almost white, while the darker red areas indicate cooler temperatures.

Ethereal Macro Photos of Snowflakes in the Moments Before They Disappear. Russian photographer Andrew Osokin is a master of winter macro photography. His photo collection is chock full of gorgeous super-close-up photographs of insects, flowers, snow, and frost.

Among his most impressive shots are photographs of individual snowflakes that have fallen upon the ground and are in the process of melting away. The shots are so detailed and so perfectly framed that you might suspect them of being computer-generated fabrications. They’re not though. The images were all captured using a Nikon D80 or Nikon D90 DSLR and a 60mm or 90mm macro lens. You can enjoy many more of Osokin’s impressive photographs (16 pages worth, at the moment) over on his LensArt.ru website. Animals Illuminated by the Sun. The time of sunset is defined in astronomy as the moment when the trailing edge of the Sun’s disk disappears below the horizon in the west.

There are few things in nature as photogenic as the sky at sunset, especially animals. The rich bright gold, pink and orange colors make unusually beautiful pictures of animals illuminated by the sun.
