Lisa. (1) Pin by Debbie Anderson Nolen on Crochet Clothing. My First..... .....crocheted cardigan!!!! Well to be technically correct, it's not my first attempt to crochet a cardigan. Oh no, no, no. It's actually the fifth, but the other four never made it to the sleeves they went so horribly wrong!!! I even tried knitting a cardigan, but I suck at knitting, so my knitting project was axed quite quickly - simple as that. Finally, I found this pattern on ravelry (don't you just L♥VE that site???) As you can see, I decided to only do the pattern around the yoke of the cardigan. Oh and at this point have decided against sleeves. Now, if you contemplating a crocheting a little bit of woolly goodness to wear, I highly recommend this pattern. Please let me know what you honestly think. Now all I need is some cool weather so I can wear it and if I don't fall out of love with in the meantime, then I will definitely make another.

Must be off! Toodles L x ♥ Top down crochet cardigan « The Green Dragonfly. Top down crochet cardigan Posted on Updated on I made another top down crochet cardigan this week, using a self striping yarn in colors I adore… It’s inspired by this pattern, but since I have a mac I cant download the software, so I used the notes and my previous cardi experience (this, this and this) to create my own design… I’m extremely pleased with the outcome! I’ve included the pattern below.

I used a 6mm hook and 8ply (DK) yarn. The cardigan is mostly made using dc but…Every second row is an sc rowEvery forth dc row is an eyelet row (2dc in one stitch, skip the next stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch). Ch68 1dc in each stitch across Ch1 sc across Ch2 dc across Increase row: Ch1 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next across, 1 sc in last stitch. 100 Ch2 dc across Ch 1 sc across Ch2 dc in same st, sk1 stitch, 2dc in next, sk1 stitch. Increase row: Ch1sc in same st, sc in next 10, *2sc in next, sc in next 10* – repeat between * and * across. 143* Ch2 dc across Arms.

I made a baby blanket with this pattern for a customer: Yup, pretty groovy! Xo, wink Little disclaimer: This is not my pattern. Quick & Easy Crocheted Rag Rug. I have tried making many rag rugs. I've braided, sewed, crocheted, and more. Most of them were way too time-consuming, turned out lumpy, frayed, or turned into a bowl (oops!). Where were the rag rugs for people who can't sew those braids flat no matter how hard they try?? It wasn't until I saw this simple photo that my rag rug world exploded.

It was all, "Wait... you can crochet around fabric? That brings us to today. So far I've used about 15 old t-shirts, along with some pants and scrap fabric. My favourite thing about the rug is it makes a great baby play mat! I sincerely hope that if you've taken the time to read this, you'll also consider making your own. Hexagon Pattern. I have at least a half a dozen projects going on. Since I have crochet ADD, I decided to start another one.

I love hexagons and decided to come up with my own pattern. Each one only takes a tiny amount of yarn, so I can use all of these little balls Materials Yarn of your choice (I used worsted weight) Size G (4mm) hook Yarn needle to weave ends Measurements about 3.25 to 3.5 inches (depending on your tension) Pattern (US terminology) Ch 4, Join with sl st, forming a ring Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 11 Dc into the ring. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, ch 1, (2 dc in next st, ch 1) around. Round 3: Sl st over to the first ch-1 sp. When sewing together, whipstitch into the back loops of the hexagon. I like to use the tails of the work for sewing.

Just a note: This is a really simple pattern, not complex at all, so if there is another out there like this one or similar...it is purely coincidental. If you have questions feel free to ask. Have a great weekend!

Susana. Moroccan Tile Afghan. The Moroccan Tile Afghan is warm, cozy, a fast V stitch pattern to crochet, and full of color! It’s the latest free crochet blanket pattern on Moogly – and I’ve included guidelines for 6 different sizes! The stitch pattern I used in the Moroccan Market Tote lodged itself in my brain. It was so much fun to make, I had to use it one more time – and figure out how to make it work in rows rather than rounds.

I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, which is a great afghan yarn with lots of saturated colors to choose from – love that! And now I can tell you for sure that it makes a very very warm blanket! The pattern here is written for a throw/afghan sized blanket, as that’s the size I’ve made. Love the Moroccan Tile Afghan but don’t crochet? Moroccan Tile AfghanAdd this pattern to your Ravelry Queue and Favorites Row 1: With Color A, ch 142, dc in 5th ch from the hook (counts as dc and skipped ch). Row 2. Row 3: With Color B row held in back, replace hook in active loop of Color A. Blog Archive » Stash down challenge 2012: Day 25 (just 30 crochet days left until Christmas) With Thanksgiving 2012 now relegated to history, we move inexorably forward toward winter. With it’s shorter days and colder temperatures, winter is not exactly my favorite season, but I do enjoy the rigor of the cold days and the seriousness of purpose they seem to embody.

Even crochet becomes more utilitarian. Practical warm scarf and hat projects take priority over lacy shawls and fanciful amigurumi — and it is that practical and pragmatic edge to the year that I enjoy, despite the fact of my freezing cold feet, my icy hands which, I have been told, could be an effective tool for lowering fevers and treating bruises. In the aftermath of Thanksgiving, I have worked to keep up with my African flower hexagon mediation and make progress with the various projects that comprise my 2012 stash down challenge.

Here is Friday’s hexagon (number 16): The sixteenth hexagon in the African flower mediation series here is Saturday’s hexagon (number 17): Hexagons On Point in 10 Free Patterns. Hexagons are becoming more and more popular by the day! They’re not just a yarny trend, they’re a major theme in interior design too. There are several free hexagon motif patterns out there (future roundup anyone?) , but the motif is just the starting point – it’s what you do with those pretty shapes that counts. And as long as you make enough of them, in the “right” size for the pattern, the hexagons themselves are interchangeable! African Flower Bag – This free pattern is available in both Swedish and English, and it uses the infamous African Flower Hexagon pattern to make a gorgeous round bag! Are you crazy about hexagons too? A Crochet Hexagonal Revamp.

Do you remember this project from my UFO unveiling? Well, I realised the reason that I wasn't getting on with it, was because I wasn't completely happy with the colours. It looks good (I think), but when I laid it on the sofa it is intended for, it sort of just blended in a bit too much with the colours in the sofa, as the colours are quite close in value as is on the sofa. Soooo..... I undid all the outer rows, and redid them in whitish. Now it really lifts the sofa when I place it on it. Now Im happy. By the way, Im doing this one in an acrylic yarn from Spotlight (in Australia).

I didn't think I would like working in acrylic (and in some brands I tried, I definitely don't), but this one feels good to work with. Cheers Fi. Crochet Hexagon Blanket: Getting Started. Welcome to LoopKnits! Sign up for our newsletter and be the first to hear about new arrivals, new projects, sales, classes, and special events! And please visit our online yarn shop LoopYarn.com. Thanks for stopping by! I’ve wanted to crochet myself a blanket from the moment I learned to chain. I can picture myself cozy and warm under a crochet blanket of my own making with a cup of coffee and a good book.

The challenge was choosing a stitch pattern or motif and yarn. I searched books, magazines, and catalogs, in shops and online for inspiration for the blanket I wanted to make. Last week, while I was cleaning my home office, I came across a hexagon I’d crocheted. The next day, I went to the shop and considered every yarn in stock for my project. I found several good options, including Berroco Ultra Alpaca, Blue Sky Skinny Cotton, Brooklyn Tweed Shelter, Ella Rae Classic Wool, Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool, and Spud & Chloe Sweater. There are lots of ways to crochet a hexagon. PATTERN Ch6. September 2013. If you were bobbing into the Attic to see me last summer, then these photos will probably look remarkably familiar to you today.

I've been reading through last summers travelogue, and the pictures are freakily similar to this years. I am often amazed at the striking repetitiveness that occurs in my life year after year, it is quite comforting and reassuring somehow. As with any family with young children, we experience constant change and growth, and yet at the same time so much about us also remains the same.

Pretty much every single holiday we take in Dorset begins the same way :: a 300 mile, 5 hour journey, arriving just before midnight. A quick chat with my Dad before ushering us all straight upstairs and into bed, so that we'll be ready to hit the ground running the next day. This is the harbour at West Bay where I spent the first ten years of my childhood holidaying with Grandparents (we lived in London then) and the second ten years of my childhood living and growing up.
