Un Vaudois fabrique ses propres planches de surf. ECOBOARD Project Benchmark : Sustainable Surf: Ecoboards. ECOBOARD Project Benchmark The ECOBOARD Project helps consumers choose a high-performance sustainable surfboard made with a reduced environmental and toxic impact. The ECOBOARD Project label is the first, independent 3rd party, consumer facing “eco-label” for surfboards. It verifies the use of more sustainable materials in surfboards, made with the latest advancements in green chemistry, recycled and renewable materials. Our science-based program provides a simple “benchmark” for sustainable surfboard materials. Shapers who use these materials can easily produce surfboards with significant environmental and worker health benefits.

See the list of shapers who have agreed to offer surfboards built to the ECOBOARD Project Benchmark specification. Surfers who want an ECOBOARD simply need to ask their shaper to use these materials when ordering their new board. Surfboards made from these materials can be labeled by qualified builders and manufacturers with an ECOBOARD Project label. Comment faire sa wax | Tripsurfeuse.

Your mental image of a surfboard as white, light, and not-quite right may inspire you to both look back and realize that wooden surfboards are not a new idea and also wonder what’s been keeping you from getting one. Surfing a true wood board (there are impostors!) Is an experience you won’t forget… most people love the lively performance of a Grain Surfboard and the knowledge they may never have to replace it. History of Surfing Wood It’s hard to remember that for over a thousand years, surfboards were carefully shaped solid pieces of wood, hand-hewn from logs.

These boards were very heavy and the excess of weight limited their range of performance. Grain’s boards are a natural blend of this traditional construction style with New England boat building craftsmanship. Our Wood We craft our boards one at a time using predominantly Northern White Cedar, with some Western Red Cedar thrown in for color (red cedar not included in kits). Un-Wood True Wood.
