L7 Look Back at 20 Years of 'Pretend We're Dead' As '90s alt-rock anthems go, L7's "Pretend We're Dead" was a perfectly immediate slice of "bubblegrunge," simultaneously channeling the noisiness of an active trash compactor with the effortless pop of opening a soda can. When deadpan vocalist Donita Sparks delivered the lyric "Just say no to individuality," she echoed the ironic detachment of the previous year's most popular chorus (something something "entertain us"), and the song enjoyed a brief ubiquity in 1992, spending 20 weeks on the Billboard Alternative Song charts. http://www.spin.com/

Includes Tapper CD: The Wire Tapper 28: The latest volume in our series of experimental and underground music compilations featuring 20 new, rare or unreleased tracks from Teho Teardo, Neil Campbell & Robert Horton, Coco Moore's group Big Nils, Elfmilk and others. Bader Motor is an occasional group featuring Arnaud Maguet, Vincent Epplay and Fred Bigot. They first brought their mysterious and individual attributes together in 2008, releasing a swell of psychedelic space music and ‘riviera Krautrock’. After their first album about psychoactive plants ( Musique Pour Les Plantes Des Dieux ) on Maguet’s label Les Disques En Rotin Réunis, Bader Motor set the first concrete block in the foundations of a new label with Grautag . It’s music for pot plants – yuccas, rubber plants and fig trees; the kind of plants that grow in waiting rooms under fluorescent tube suns amid forest-printed wallpaper.
