Dynamo BIM. Share: Marcello Sgambelluri cornered Autodesk’s Matt Jezyk and Zach Kron and grilled them with questions about the origins and direction for Dynamo.

Dynamo BIM

We thought we’d share the thread. Hear more on these subjects at Marcello’s upcoming RTC talks and on his blog. Why was dynamo created? [matt] Ian Keough created it to smooth out building design workflows while he was at Buro Happold in NYC, because he was constantly working between Rhino and Revit transferring data. [matt] I made a business case to have some of our guys start contributing to the open source project because 1) I’m a huge geek and had already invested many nights and weekends programming Dynamo and contributing source to github 2) there was something there that can help combine these two different camps of computational design guys and BIM guys. Was it really a competitor to Grasshopper? [matt] We did not set out to build a GH clone. [zach] Dynamo’s clearly in a similar area as Grasshopper.

Dynamo BIM. Dynamo BIM. Unit1: Introduction In this lesson we will introduce the building mass for the course, demonstrate its parametric flexibility, and explain the geometric applications of its parameters.

Dynamo BIM

This introduction will be entirely in Revit. Unit 1: Editing Elements in Revit Unit 1: Editing Elements in Dynamo In this lesson we will edit building mass parameters from within the Dynamo environment. Unit 1: Editing Multiple Parameters In this lesson we will edit multiple parameters for the building mass in dynamo. Unit 1: Editing with Formulas In this lesson we will set several parameters for our building mass in Dynamo. [Addon][WIP] Sverchok, parametric tool for architects. Dynamo - Autodesk Vasari. Dynamo is moving—New release—New pre-release—New website!!!

Dynamo - Autodesk Vasari

With our new website, we hope to better serve the needs of the Dynamo community with a more structured forum, access to the latest builds and learning materials, and room to grow. The Vasari site has been a gracious host for Dynamo, but the time has come to move out of the house. Head to our new site, DynamoBIM.org, to find out more about the new Dynamo production-ready release Version 0.6.3 and the first release of the new experimental branch with integrated DesignScript and vastly enhanced geometry capabilities, Version 0.7.0. It's a lot all at once. On the new site, check out the blog and this post about Dynamo's new releases. If you were a member of the Vasari forum before February of this year (and your Autodesk Single Sign On is the same email address as your Vasari membership address), you should find that your user name and password for the Vasari site work just as well for Dynamo's new site.

Tell us what you think. Dynamo - Autodesk Vasari.
