NewBeauty - TestTube™ 2013 Beauty Awards: The Winning Beauty Products. Real Techniques Makeup Brushes|Samantha Chapman Makeup Brushes|The Best Makeup Brushes - Real Techniques - Real Techniques. Best Anti Aging Makeup 2012 - Anti Aging Beauty Products. Makeup used to promise to add a flush to your cheeks, a rosy hue to your lips. Today it aims to do much, much more: hydrate skin, minimize wrinkles, diminish lines on lips. And not just while you're wearing it: Like lotions and serums, anti-aging makeup vows to deliver skin benefits over time, so you'll eventually look better even when you don't have it on. Skeptical? We were, too. Last summer, we began a yearlong project to determine, scientifically, if any of the myriad anti-aging cosmetics lived up to their claims — eye shadows that say they don't crease, lipliners that are supposedly anti-feathering, and primers that promise to hide lines.

We enlisted 661 women, ages 35 to 79, to try them — in some cases, for as long as eight weeks. They filled out questionnaires, came to our lab for skin analyses done with high-tech equipment, and went home with the test brands.* The good news: The bold claims aren't all marketing hype. *Testers didn't know what brands they were testing. Anti Aging Skin Products - Best Anti Aging Beauty Products. The contenders: Creams and lotions created to keep skin moisturized and boost its overnight-repair function. These formulas often include antioxidants and wrinkle-fighting ingredients such as retinol. Testing time: Eight weeks. And the winners are... It's a tie! The differences between them: Pro-retinol-A–infused L'Oréal received the best overall consumer performance score, including the highest ranking from panelists for firming and reducing wrinkles. Tip: While panelists were generally pleased with the softening and smoothing benefits of night creams, the treatments were less successful at minimizing age and UV spots than more targeted treatments, such as the winning age-spot faders.

ShopSmart mag: Makeup counter intelligence! Whenever I go to a TV studio to do a ShopSmart consumer segment, I get a great perk: A free make-up lesson! The stations have the best makeup artists who pull all sorts of products out of their bag of tricks to make us look good—and not washed out—for those high def cameras. On one of my last appearances at Fox, the makeup artist pulled out a gorgeous shade of Chanel blush to sweep across my cheeks.

I loved it. The hair stylist (yes, we get our hair done too!) Noticed too, and asked her why she sprang for such a pricey blush. That got us talking about what makeup products the pros think are worth splurging on and what products they skimp on. I know it's changed the way I shop for makeup—from now on, I'm heading to the drug store for a bunch of stuff! When to splurge: Blush. Concealer. Liners. When to save: Lipstick. Makeup brushes. Mascara. OCC Skin: Conceal (Concealer) Review, Photos, Swatches. OCC Skin: Conceal OCC Skin: Conceal (Concealer) OCC Skin: Conceal ($20.00 for 8.5 grams) recently launched with twelve shades (which is impressive for a concealer range). There are six yellow-based shades and six red-based shades.

Each concealer is packaged in a clear plastic screw-top jar, and inside is the concealer. The concealer is in a hardened block, but it’s creamy to the touch and as you dip your brush in it. The texture isn’t too creamy, which can lead to a lot of settling or sliding around during the day, but it isn’t so dry that it’s difficult to blend out. It has amazing opaque coverage; it will hide just about anything, and it never feels heavy, looks cakey, or requires a lot of product.

Y2 was a good match for me and most of my face; if I want to be really perfect in color, I mix a little of Y1 in, but usually, Y2 is very, very close. My preferred application method is definitely fingertips. Shades as described by OCC: The Glossover See more photos & swatches! Review, Before/After Photos: Zensation 3-in-1 Skin Rejuvenating, At-Home Device - Infrared, Red Light And Vibrations Diminish Wrinkles. This innovative LED device to treat and counteract signs of aging (fine lines, wrinkles) around the eye works by stimulating collagen and elastin, as well as providing a gentle massaging action. The Zensation 3-in-1 Skin Rejuvenating Device is based on proven, unbiased clinical research and test studies. Its three-prong approach of Infrared light, Red light and vibration addresses biochemical and physical needs of cell structures in the skin layers, including the dermis.

The scientific technology makes sense. In my opinion, using a LED (light-emitting diode) is less intimidating and safer than laser devices; high consumer acceptance is very likely. It is a safe and proven effective light with wavelengths (infrared and red light ), available in a FDA-cleared device. What: A two-step system with an oil & ‘activating mist’. For: Mature or prematurely aging skin, dry skin, or just skin in need of a dose of goodness! Review: Describing itself as ‘exquisite’ and ‘rejuvenating’, my expectations of the Kimia Facial System were very high before I even opened the box. Thankfully, Kimia seems to be one of those rare brands that actually delivers on its promises. The Kimia System is a two step process: the first is the Kimia Exquisite All Natural Face Oil, which is a lovely rich serum, and the second step is the Hydra-Activator, which is a fancy way of saying spray.

After using my skin feels incredibly hydrated and has an instant glow. I am generally a big fan of facial oils, and if you’re in the market for a luxurious & pampering treat then this is definitely the product for you. Clean creds: All natural ingredients, paraben free. Mainstream brands usually contain chemicals that can irritate and damage skin. Natural makeups, on the other hand, feature substances found in nature that nourish and protect. Powder mineral makeup, for instance, is composed of antibacterial minerals, so it doesn’t require preservatives. It’s made of microscopic flat crystals that create a filter that allows the skin to breathe, while protecting it from environmental pollutants. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide also provide sun protection, although you’ll still need sunscreen if you’re going to be outdoors for long. Beeswax-based mascaras and lipsticks are naturally moisturizing, while drugstore varieties contain paraffin wax and plastic polymers. Mass-market lip gloss may rely on hydrogenated polyisobutene, a petroleum-based ingredient, for its shine, while natural lip gloss uses botanical oils.
