I was always on the lookout, but could never find anything that I really loved. Then last month, in a stroke of good fabric buying luck, I found myself with three fabrics that I realized would all make amazing oversized clutches. The only problem was that with three choices, I was having an impossible time deciding which one to use for the clutch! So I pulled out my new Sprout by HP and used their drawing program to draw out a pretty little fashion illustration.
Then I used the overhead camera capability to take a photo of all three potential fabrics, and then stuck them in the illustration to see which one I liked best. Based off of my drawing, which one would you have picked? Of course I went with Leopard. I think every Southern town has at least one good embroidery shop, and I've given my fair share of business to ours, but I recently decided to DIY my own monogram on a little hoodie and it was as easy as pie. I don't care what level of crafty you are, you can definitely do this!
Start with a hoodie you like. I found this cobalt blue one at Old Navy, but I also found these available on Amazon in a great selection of colors for great prices, too! Then you'll need iron-on letters: one large for the last name initial, and 2 small for the first and middle. Then, just line up your letters in a monogram pattern, slightly touching, but not overlapping. Following the instructions on the package, just iron them on your hoodie! The one below is one of my favorites…. (Check out the cute bows, or stars, or letters!) I don’t always have enough patience for clay baking or resin hardening…..so I just used my glue gun: The trick is to use high heat glue sticks and stick the nozzle as far into the mold as you can and work out from there.
Carefully remove your glue pieces or “cabochons” from the silicon molds and use some small detail scissors to cut off any excess glue: I spraypaint the pieces first and then add any color detail on top of that if I want more than one color: It’s an easy way to make a quick pair of cabochon earrings for yourself or for gifts: Just add a dab of glue on the back of the cabochon and add earring posts: Any small silicon mold will make a great pair of studs: Just punch holes into a card or tag… . . …..to present them as a gift! This time around, I also used shorter tube beads which look much better around the wrist. Supplies: * 10 yards - Waxed Cotton Cord 1.5mm * 1 - Gold Plated Lobster Clasps 23mm * 3 - 12mm Open Jump Rings * 3 - Gold Plated Curved Noodle Tube Beads 5mm x 30mm * 13 - Gold Plated 6mm Open Jump Rings * 13 - Gold Plated Head Pins * Round Nose Pliers, Flat nose Pliers, Wire cutter Not pictured: a small plastic bottle (circumference just a bit wider than your wrist), painter's tape, a large needle and scissors. the tutorial // how-to: Tie the knot! DIY Chan Luu inspired tube bracelets. I can assure you that you'll make plenty, in just about any color to match your outfits! Clearly inspired by the Chan Luu bracelets, although I decided to make the closure of my version a little different. The original Chan Luu bracelets are adjustable (by using a square knot in the back), although I know my wrist size isn't going to change any time soon, and made mine with a pretty mother of pearl button and less stringing hanging in the back.

The minute I saw the Hermès leather belt on an editorial on Fashion Gone Rogue I knew exactly what to do: I sat and start drawing on paper, cutting and trying until I found the right proportions to get the same shape around my wrist. Supplies: NOTE: If you're going to use thick leather of cuir, you won't need two layers. In this case, I'm using scraps of leather that are pretty soft, and because this cuff needs some structure to stay in place, I'll use two layers glued together. Xox, d. keep in touch! DIY leather bow cuff bracelet. DIY cord, tubes and pearls bracelet. Here it is: the perfect summer bracelet. Totally inspired by a designer's one who asked to not be mentioned. This is what I used: * 5 tubes (I bought mine several time ago at www.firemountaingems.com, although the size of the tubes is a bit too long, and a 3.5 cm length would be the best pick) * 21 soldered closed jump rings diam. 7 mm * 21 freshwater pearls (different sizes and shades, from my stash) * round nose pliers and cutters not pictured - ehm... an almost finished roll of toilet paper and a plastic bag... but I'll tell you more about this later ;) Finding the right size of your bracelet 1* unravel the cording from the first package and find the middle length 2* loop around the lobster clasp and fold it in half again 3* wrap the ends with some tape 4* pass the cords into the tube 5* pass the cords into the 12 mm ring 6* close the clasp and try it onto your wrist Wrapping the bracelet 1* now, that is your first wrap of the bracelet The knots 1* loop around the ring and pass it under the bracelet.

I saw the Anthropologie dip dyed necklace and I knew few facts: - she loves anything Anthro; - her favorite color is still purple, - a girl can never have enough accessories. Pencil Refashion and Embellishing. It is time for some refashioning! I bought this skirt at DI for $4. My dress form was drowning in thick navy blue fabric. But you’ve got to LOVE the buttons and the lace up back. It is also vintage ralph lauren (well, maybe it was from the 90′s, I have no idea, it is just in need of a makeover). So, I decided to make this a pencil skirt tutorial, which will also double as a pencil skirt embellishment tutorial. First, put the skirt on inside out and pin it tight from the waist to the end of your rump and from there pin more out to make a pencil shape.. Then SEW along the pin line. Cut the hem length and the excess fabric after it has been taken in.
Iron down the trimmed fabric in different directions, then iron the salvage bottom in, then iron the bottom in one more time to conceal the nasty end. Optional: top stitch the thicker part of the waist band to make it more flat and secure. Straighten the smaller circles, lay them on top of each other and this is what it will look like. 1 ruffle. Tincloth. DIY Lined graphic tee. I’ve been obsessed with graphic tees, naturally, especially Marc Jacob’s vertical striped one and Jcrew’s horizontal striped tee. And this top may be one of the easiest and affordable graphic tees you can make. Just a few pieces of tape and fabric paint and done!
