Having guessed it is lost, he tries to find out who owns it or where it belongs, but is met with mute indifference from everyone else, who barely notice its presence, each unwilling to entertain this uninvited interruption to their day to day lives. For reasons he does not explain, the boy empathises with the creature, and sets out to find a ‘place’ for it. Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer John Kassab discusses his extensive work on this animated masterpiece bringing to life the world of the Lost Thing. A Produção de Abacate em Portugal O abacate é um fruto exótico proveniente do abacateiro (Persea americana), uma árvore da família das Laureáceas originária da América do Sul, nomeadamente do México, sendo actualmente cultivado em regiões subtropicais.
Trata-se de uma árvore de grande porte (pode ultrapassar os 30 m de altura) e adapta-se melhor a solos húmidos; a produção de uma planta adulta oscila entre 200 a 800 frutos por ano. São conhecidas mais de 500 variedades de abacateiros, o que explica os muitos tipos de abacate, diferentes na forma, tamanho e cor. Em Portugal, esta cultura encontra-se sobretudo no Algarve e na Madeira. A área total de cultura é de 320 ha, originando uma produção de 2903 toneladas, concentrando-se no Algarve o maior número de pomares, que ocupam uma área de 232 ha e produzem 1893 toneladas.
A parte comestível deste fruto é a polpa verde-amarelada, de consistência pastosa, que envolve um grande caroço de 3 a 5 cm de diâmetro.
