How do simple machines work? Many mechanical machines are built using wheels and levers, as these are the simplest of machines or types of simple machines. A simple machine is defined as a mechanical device that either changes the direction of a force or the magnitude of a force. A force is anything that causes an object to accelerate. In general, simple machines multiply force through mechanical advantage or leverage. In the game, wheels and levers play a big role in determining whether or not the robots will work.
