Questions actuelles Notes. Apple Designer Jonathan Ive Talks About Steve Jobs and New Products. 'Hello. Thanks for Coming' We use Jonathan Ive’s products to help us to eat, drink and sleep, to work, travel, relax, read, listen and watch, to shop, chat, date and have sex. Many of us spend more time with his screens than with our families. Some of us like his screens more than our families. The gods — or was it the ghost of Steve Jobs? “Hello. Ive is in a good mood today — and not just because he’s celebrating his 47th birthday.

Ive has been a maker ever since he could wield a screwdriver. A love of making is something he shared with Jobs, Apple’s former chief executive who died three years ago. “Steve and I spent months and months working on a part of a product that, often, nobody would ever see, nor realize was there,” Ive grins. For a man whose products are all called iSomething, it’s surprising that “i” is one word Ive scarcely uses. Ive really does keep a low profile — or at least as low a profile as you’d expect one of the world’s most highly paid designers to keep. Perhaps. Social Design Magazine. VAPO2 on Behance. British furniture brand Vitsœ has relaunched an injection-moulded plastic table originally designed by German industrial designer Dieter Rams in 1962.

The 621 Side Table was designed to showcase the practical and aesthetic properties of plastic. Rams regularly promoted the use of plastic in his products for Vitsœ and electronics brand Braun, and described it as a "noble and long-living material. " Having been out of production since the 1980s, the table is manufactured by injection-moulding plastic into a form that gives it inherent structural rigidity. Two sizes are being produced, which can be purchased separately or combined as a nested pair.

The tables are available in off-white or black with surfaces hand-painted to give them a textured surface that provides durability and anti-static properties. Rams has added adjustable feet to the new versions, which enable the product to perform better when used on uneven surfaces.
