I used to hate the idea of spec work. By saying this I’m not saying that I love the idea of it now, but I’ve come to accept that there will be companies that will do it and designers that love to participate. I’m in the minority though because designers near and far love to get in an uproar whenever they see a spec design contest happen. http://drawar.com/

For a while he taught college physics while moonlighting as a professional chef. He can both juggle clubs and ride a unicycle, but not at the same time. It is not clear how any of this relates to technology and design but he does harbor an especial dislike for widows and orphans . Presently, he produces short documentary-style films for local downtown Chapel Hill businesses . Our first office downtown was housed in a charming brick building called the Franklin Center which, at various and sundry times over the last hundred years, has been home to the JB Robbins House of Fashion, Town Hall Bar & Grill, and Pickwick Theatre—of which the latter was the first in town to feature what we call “talkies”.

I would imagine that nobody hates the expression don’t judge a book by its cover more than an actual book cover designer . Obviously, the metaphor isn’t really about books – but still, that’s gotta sting a little. Let’s face it, if people didn’t actually “judge books by their covers”, there would be a lot of graphic designers out of a job.
