Sorry about being MIA for a bit. To say that I have been stressed is probably the understatement of the year. Someone stole my husband's identity. If you have been through this, you know how horrible it is and I truly feel for you. Homework Homework

Part two of What About the Little Ones? My friend, Kellie, posed this question: I love, love, love this idea! I do have a question. Do you have a volume of CDs that you create? What is on a room time CD? » Habits for a Happy Home What is on a room time CD? » Habits for a Happy Home

What Are We Reading Wednesday What Are We Reading Wednesday This week's post is on a book that I've been sharing with my First Graders for the last couple of years at this time of year. The Little Green Witch by Barbara Barbieri McGrath is a Halloween version of The Little Red Hen. In this story, the little green witch is looking for some help planting, watering, picking, carving, and making pumpkin pie. However, the bat, ghost, and gremlin are not willing to help. Of course at the end of the story, everyone wants to eat.

Ever wonder how you’re going to manage all the precious school papers your kids bring home, or in our case all the stuff they create in your home? I get a lot of questions on how we store all of our homeschool papers and records. I even wrote a post on Storage and Record Keeping. But what about the special things you want to keep permanently? And how about those pictures that you take each year to show how your kids have grown? School Days Memory Keeping School Days Memory Keeping

Mrs. Ricca's Kindergarten Mrs. Ricca's Kindergarten Wow...March has been a busy month! As a student at TC, I've had the opportunity to attend all of the workshops offered by the Reading and Writing Project for free (though if you account for the insane tuition, I wouldn't exactly call it free)! The staff developers - Lucy Calkins, Kathy Collins, Rebecca Cronin, Amanda Hartman, Natalie Louis, Christine Holley - are ALL absolutely fabulous and I'm learning so much from them. I feel so lucky to be learning directly from the masters themselves! Below are just a few of the ideas I've gotten from their workshops. Reading Goals & Assessment

Nature has rhythms. Life does, too. But, somehow, we keep getting off beat here at Jammies School. To help us get back in tempo, I was planning to simply resurrect our Wake-Up Time and Daily Rhythm Charts, which remained effective until cards began to go missing. However, as I was about to click “print” in order to make replacement cards, Jack scooted across the floor. “Ah!” Routine and Rhythms: Our New Morning Lotto Charts
