To help us get back in tempo, I was planning to simply resurrect our Wake-Up Time and Daily Rhythm Charts, which remained effective until cards began to go missing. Why I love using worksheets in the kindergarten classroom As a kindergarten teacher, I often used worksheets in my classroom as a way to help children practice a certain skill set or to supplement a lesson.

Time after time, I found worksheets to be an engaging and productive way for children in kindergarten to cement their knowledge of the given topic. Also, worksheets allowed children to work at their own pace through the activity, since each child could work quietly as his or her desk and submit the worksheets whenever they were ready. I never gave my kindergarten students homework, but I did periodically send children home with blank worksheets that they could complete with their parents, at their leisure over a weekend or long holiday.

Each time I sent blank worksheets home, numerous parents would inevitably approach me the following week to ask for additional worksheets. Sample Lessons: K-8. While it varies by course and grade level, a given course can be made up of as many as 180 lessons. Some lessons are 100% online and interactive, others take place off line, and some are a little of both. In every case, clear direction is provided to the Learning Coach to help them guide their student and ensure that the lesson's learning objectives are met. Take the sample lessons below for a test drive to get a feel for the real experience. Keep in mind that some features have been disabled to make the samples work outside of the online school itself, or to allow us to maintain academic integrity.

Be sure to also check out our sample lessons for grades 9–12. Preschool and Kindergarten Animals - games, movies and activities. Our preschool and kindergarten animals section is designed especially for young learners with easy mouse skills, and audio instructions and game play. Kids can watch movies about the various environments and the animals that live there, test what they learned through are easy to use games, get creative by building their own animal environment or build their knowledge by going through our audio and animated animal flashcards.

Our animal section includes the farm, jungle, forest, and ocean.
