The Velenje "Promenada" is an important city space and a vital city thoroughfare. It is one of the central axes of the centre of Velenje, a young town designed in the 1950s, based on the Modernist ideal of the garden city; as such, it is unique in the Slovene space. The renovation of the Promenada represents the first step towards the gradual revitalisation of the city centre. It's tasks are to supply the city with the missing programmes and to help it reclaim its original character of a town-in-a-park. Also the existing promenade was created by closing the erstwhile traffic road almost thirty years ago.

8 Amazing Examples of Ramps Blended Into Stairs. Ramps can sometimes present challenges for designers and architects. They are useful (and sometimes required by law) for strollers, wheelchairs and any device with wheels for that matter. Aesthetically, they can sometimes be cumbersome and out of place with the rest of the design. In the gallery below we explore a series of ramps that have been beautifully blended into sets of stairs. Some of you may wonder about these designs not being ‘to code’ as handrails are not present. Unfortunately I am not well versed in building standards and codes, especially since they vary from country to country. Advisory 505.1 General: Handrails are required on ramp runs with a rise greater than 6 inches (150 mm) (see 405.8) and on certain stairways (see 504).

Robson Square is a landmark civic centre and public plaza of modernist concrete, located in Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. The McCormick Tribune Campus Center opened September 30, 2003. Blackfriars Road is a road in Southwark, SE1. Lyon_quai_Rhône_Raspail.JPG (2048×1536) Solo Bench - SARAH PEASE DESIGN. Solo Bench White Oak / Steel 17" x 60" x 28" Designed and made in response to the simple observation that while benches are intended to seat multiple people, often times they are only occupied by one. Instead of investing in a modular design, which could be more practical in theory, I chose to focus on creating a design that could relay the observation mentioned above.
