Has anyone used CartThrob 2 or BrilliantRetail for an EE 2.1.3 project yet? | ExpressionEngine Community Forums. Hey everyone, I’d like to chime in on our experience with both of these wonderful eCommerce solutions for EE2. First, I’m not meaning to step on anyone’e toes, just wanted to make that clear. I’ve had great conversations with both Chris from CT and David from BR - they’re both great developers and very helpful!
We’ve made lots of sites using EE2 but just getting into the realm of eCommerce for our clients, some larger than others. We first looked at BR only because CR2 wasn’t available - the project was for a client that needed an eCommerce store along with a custom auction module - something like a light version of eBay you could say. Fast forward about 2 months, I saw CT2 was in beta and available for sale - I was like okay let’s see how this compares to BR. Let me give you a quick summary of what type of client this is, and what they do.
The bins are also setup as combos, which would look something like: 2 Rooms = 20 large bins, 5 XL bins and 100 zip ties - as an example. Our first module, part 1: the concept — ExpressionEngine Addon Recipes. Our first module, part 1: the concept Difficulty: Easy Building our first module For our first module, we’ll build something that introduces some of the most commonly needed aspects of module development: a database to store module-specific datafront end template tagsa form and corresponding action to handle the processing of the forma Control Panel interface for managing/monitoring data With this in mind - and a quick scan of devot:ee to see that one does not exist - let’s build an auction module. Initially, we’ll keep the module as simple as possible so that the main concepts don’t get lost (we won’t be building the next ebay quite yet). This is what we want the module to do: display an entry with its current auction price and other summary data (eg, the number of bids placed, the most recent bid).display a form to allow logged in site members to place a bid.display a list of previous bids for the item.
One thing to to note: where possible, we’ll use the pre-existing functionality of EE. Help with a simple silent auction | ExpressionEngine Community Forums. Hi, thanks for the reply. I considered the ebay route, but really would prefer creating a single product that does everything the client wants. The system doesn’t need to process payments, as that would all be done privately between the buyer and seller. If I can’t create another method, I will most likely go the comments route, where the administrator changes the high bid manually.
In my head, I see something like this potentially working: I use Freeform as my bid submission system. Upon bidding/filling out a form, the member is added to an email list for that auction. If someone enters a bid that is a smaller numerical amount than the highest value, a custom (php?) To display the highest bid, I would query the submitted forms. I’m a newbie to scripting, so I might just be really optimistic about it accomplishing all of my wildest dreams. How to Create an Auction Site Like eBay. Home >> Making Money >> Creating an Auction Website IMPORTANT: If you want to create a website where people can auction off their goods and services (like eBay) then keep reading, but if you want to create a site to sell your own goods and services on eBay then read this article. eBay has taken the Internet by storm.

Start Small The best way to start any business online is to start small. Do you think eBay became that big overnight?
