FYEAH, STRANGE FINDS! | 10 Foods You Can Allegedly Make in a Coffee Maker. Homemade Girl Scout Cookies: Samoas Bars. I love the look of the original Samoas Girl Scout Cookies, but making them from scratch can be a little bit time consuming. This is largely because the dough must be rolled out, cut out and then each of the cookies has to be handled individually for topping. The results are well worth it, in my opinion, but we don’t always have time to make a labor-intensive recipe – no matter how bad a craving for Girl Scout cookies gets.

Bar cookies are the perfect solution. This is basically a shortcut recipe that still delivers all the great samoas flavor without some of the more tedious parts of cooking making. These bars have a buttery shortbread base that is topped with the caramel-coconut samoas topping and chocolate. The final step is to dip these in chocolate once the topping has set. At least not at the department stores we went to at the mall. So we improvised. And turned a neck tie into a bow tie.

With a simple velcro closure, using the skinny end of the tie. Perfect for my husband who just wanted a simple little bow tie. And the real reason? Monogram Mugs. Friends! I’m so pleased to share our first gift DIY of the season. Maude made these fantastic monogrammed mugs over the weekend. Don’t they look terrific? The idea came when we saw these fun initial cups at Anthropologie and remembered our kitchen was lacking in hot cocoa mugs. It’s a very doable project. 1) We started with a trip to Goodwill, where we collected 8 plain white mugs. 2) Then we gathered supplies. For the font, I had something very specific in mind. 3) Cut out an initial and a piece of transfer paper. 4) Trace the initial. 5) Take your Porcelaine pen and trace over the lines of the initial. 6) Once the lettering is done, let the mugs sit for 24 hours. 7) And that’s it!

The project turned out so well that it has my mind spinning with other possibilities. What do you think? Need more sibling gift ideas? Free Printable Love Coupons. Man Bouquet 2 :) Hello! Tonight we are going to my sister and brother-in-laws to celebrate his 30th birthday. I have been wanting to make another man bouquet and I thought he would love one too. I've made a man bouquet before ( and loved it the first time (so did my husband!). This time I thought I would use a beer mug instead of a flower pot. It looks even better! Here are the materials that I used. First I stuffed some tissue in the bottom of the mug so that ball had something to sit on. Then I took the blue tissue and the ball out and wrapped it all in the green tissue so that it would look nice from the outside. Here is a top view of how I wrapped the ball. After I set the mug up how I liked I started to tape my gifts to the wooden skewers.

Just stick the skewer right into the ball and make the gift item as high or low as you like. Here is a picture of a few gift items already skewered into the styrofoam ball. Cassie.
