Audio Recorder 1.1 Activity Module. Developed by the School of Education at the University of Nottingham, this learning tool allows students to record an MP3 audio file, saving to a local folder. The student can then upload it as an assignment. It works similar to the assignment module. This module has a Flash interface and uses an ActiveX control to create the MP3 audio file, hence it will only work in Internet Explorer and derivatives such as the Avant browser.

Introduction Developed by the School of Education at the University of Nottingham and as part of the HEFCE funded eChina~UK Project , this learning tool allows students and teachers to record an MP3 audio file directly from a web browser and save it to a local folder. Audio recordings are limited to 4 minutes to keep file sizes down, although you can record as many times as you like. The Audio Recorder will only work in Internet Explorer and its derivatives such as the Avant browser because this application uses an ActiveX control to create the MP3 audio file. You will also need the latest Adobe Flash Player .
