Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip It’s time for a little confession. I realize this may get me shunned (especially in my hometown of Pittsburgh!) , but….I don’t like football. I don’t like to watch it, I never liked playing football with my friends, I don’t even like playing catch with a football. If there was one thing Mike could change about me, I’m pretty sure this would be it. I saw this recipe on Jessica’s blog and made it the very next day. *Note: Jessica also has variations of this dip on her blog. A simple smiley This is a list of notable and commonly used emoticons or textual portrayals of a writer's mood or facial expression in the form of icons. The Western use of emoticons is quite different from Eastern usage, and Internet forums, such as 2channel, typically show expressions in their own ways.
In recent times, graphic representations, both static and animated, have taken the place of traditional emoticons in the form of icons. Emoticons can generally be divided into two groups: Western or Horizontal (mainly from America and Europe), and Eastern or Vertical (mainly from east Asia). Western The emoticon in Western style is written most often from left to right as though the head is rotated counter-clockwise 90 degrees.
Eastern Eastern emoticons generally are not rotated, and may include non-Latin characters to allow for additional complexity. Unicode characters References. NFC Championship Game Time: Baby Red Potatoes with Sour Cream, Dill & Bacon. The NFC Championship Game Time is off to a start and my husband can barely contain himself. Whether you are cheering for the Bears, Packers, Jets or Steelers, you need some nibbles. I just made some snacks including individual cheesecakes and some other quick to make snacks. The wings came out of the oven and then I ran across some baby red potatoes. Any idea what I am going to do with these NFC Championship Game Time Mini-Potaotes (no cheating and looking at title)?

If you loved the beautiful DIY wedding this morning and Nata’s gorgeous paper flower bouquets, you are in luck as Nata is sharing how she crafted them with us! She was inspired by a template created by Morgan Levine on Martha Stewart (as was I in the flowers I created for this styled shoot). I just love that this basic idea has inspired different brides to create their own version of giant paper flowers – you might remember these equally awesome giant paper flowers from this wedding I shared last year. :) Thanks so much Nata for sharing how you created your giant pink paper rose + special thanks to Studio Castillero for the photos of the DIY + her wedding!
Materials (to make one giant rose) Step 1: Cut the petals Cut 5-6 teardrop petals and 15-6 heart-shaped petals from the petal colored crepe paper. IMPORTANT: Crepe paper is directional so it matters which way you’re cutting the paper. Repeat until all of your petals are cut Step 2: Cut the leaves + calyx Step 3: Make the rose stem. Papier-mache easter eggs. For Easter I made papier-mache polka dotted eggs. I created them using small water balloons and tissue paper then I filled them with candy and toys and sealed them shut. The egg can hold a surprising amount of candy and the tissue paper seems delicate making for a delightfully heavy and yet fragile object, much like real egg.
Also like a real egg you have to break the shell to get at what’s inside. I like things you have to destroy to open. You’ll need: water balloons (they make the egg-iest shape)white tissue paper (one sheet will make about three eggs)colorful tissue paper (one sheet will make many eggs, so you don’t need much)a 3/4 inch hole puncha paint brush you don’t care much aboutliquid laundry starcha sturdy shot glass to hold your egg while you’re working with ita way to hang the balloons to dryenough time to let these dry overnight, and a few hours to let them dry after filling and sealing them (you’ve been warned) Note: I tried a few variations on the starch.
Why the loop? Inspired Entertaining: DIY Chalkboard Wine Glasses. Last month I got an email from one of those "deal of the day" websites featuring a very cute set of wine glasses with chalkboard stems from a company called Chalkboard China. I've seen chalkboard glasses before, and always thought them to be a fun and chic way for guests to keep track of their glass throughout the night so you don't end up with mixed-up glasses or dozens of half-full glasses left around the house. But all the ones I've seen in stores feature a strip of chalkboard paint across the bowl of the glass, which I've always felt looks awkward and takes away from the beauty of the wine or beverage in the glass. What I like about this version is that the writing part is at the bottom on the stem and foot of the glass, so it doesn't compete with the beverage.
I also like that the simple black foot on the glass is in itself an elegant design element, and would work just as well with no writing on it. So I figured, "I can totally make that myself! " Materials 1. 2. 3. Method Step 1. Whipping up a sweet life... Lemon-Basil Ricotta Stuffed Shells in a Champagne Cream Sauce:
Can you EVEN believe I almost forgot to share with you this delicious baked pasta recipe? It was back in November when I made this pasta… and I remember the day perfectly… It was real sunny. My hair in a scrunchy, the stretchy grey comfy-pants are on, I was totally rocking the whole I-don’t-give-a-care-what-I-look-like-it’s-my-day-off look like nobody’s business. I’d once again put laundry on the back burner that afternoon {who has time for THAT?} , turned on a little Florence and the Machine, opened the fridge to get the creamer for my coffee and then I spied the champagne and then… the cream. I squinted at the cream… then back to the champagne… then back to the cream… then, well you get the point.
POW {that’s the sound it makes in my brain when a recipe happens}! Please don’t think I ran out and bought champagne. Butter a baking dish and set aside. On the large holes of your box grater; shred a cup of Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese. Measure out 3/4 cup of champagne. Ingredients: DIY Doily Lamp. Here is a simple yet stylish photo frame that can accomodate quite many photos at once. The idea is very simple. Fasten twines on the empty frame and hang photos using clothes pins on them. You can use a frame you bought or a frame you made by yourself. To make it you just need to find some wood strips, sand them, paint or stain them and fasten together with the staples and nails.
Tutorials for Recycling T-Shirts. So way way back, in June, I wrote this Studio Organization post, about starting the process of organizing my studio by cleaning out the closet full of junk. Well, it's September and...let's just say the closet is a work in progress. Some of the things that are taking up space in the closet are shirts that I never wear anymore.

Rainbow Cake in a Jar. I’ve always had a penchant for sunshine in a jar. Doesn’t the very phrase itself, “sunshine in a jar,” roll off your tongue and fill your mouth with magic? While I’ve never yet found myself a sunshine in a jar, I think we may have just concocted it in our kitchen tonight. In this simple recipe, a basic white cake is turned into a slew of bright colors, baked to perfection, then topped with a creamy white frosting.
Cakes baked in jars can be topped with traditional metal canning lids and stored in the fridge for up to five days. They make a great treat to ship to someone, so long as you can ensure delivery to it’s final destination within 3 days. Of course, you don’t have to do anything special with your cake-in-a-jar. CREPE STRAPLESS JUMPSUIT. Magnetic Nail Polish: The Next Big Manicure Trend? If you've tired of crackle polish and are looking for the next big special effect, search no longer, because magnetic nail polish is coming to a website near you. If you haven't seen magnetic polish yet, it's basically regular polish with tiny magnetized particles in it. When you put it anywhere near a magnet, the charged bits align themselves with the magnet's poles, creating cool patterns in the polish. I tried Layla Magneffect in Brown Sugar ($16), which ends up looking like tiger's eye. It's a cool concept (although this isn't magnetic nail polish's first time around the block), and you can expect to see the collection popping up everywhere from Drugstore.com to Zappos soon.
