[postcard collectors] There is a whole subset of postcards, especially novelty postcards. These amazing pieces of ephemera were made to move and sometimes pop-up AND go through the mail!!! The Popuplady has been collecting movable ephemera since she started collecting over 20 years ago. Recently, it became apparent that some of the most novel mechanisms were used in postcards and went through the mail! It boggles her mind! Why not send this fan/postcard to a friend in a hot climate? What better way to show the break-up of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918 than using a movable mechanism? This is one of the truly unusal mechanisms we call "the Roller." As far as I know, these pop-up CD/DVD or message boxes were only available in Canada.
