Armano & Rubel: 11 Trends To Watch For 2011 Our friends David Armano and Steve Rubel over at Edelman digital have put together a smart report that highlights eleven trends to watch in 2010. A common theme that runs through them is information overload and how we deal with it. The 11 curated trends are: Attentionomics – Marketers begin to realize the value of attention and not just reach in driving conversionDigital Curation – The plethora of content will give rise to digital curators who can separate art from junkDeveloper Engagement – Marketers typically don’t try to court developers, but that’s all about to changeTransmedia Storytelling – If there’s one constant it’s that humans crave stories.
Tendances 2.0 = marketing, communication, media (2010 / 2011 trends). j?r?my dumont 17 digital marketing trends for 2011, by Econsultancy CEO Ashley Friedlein Following are my personal views on what will be interesting and important in the world of digital marketing and e-commerce for 2011. I haven’t given extensive justification for any of these. It’s just what I feel to be likely from my many conversations with industry influencers. I’d be very interested to hear your thoughts, or feel free to post a link to your own predictions. 1. My overall feeling for 2011 is that there isn’t anything ‘brand new’ on the immediate horizon that is going to create a fundamental shift, like search once did, or Web 2.0, or social media etc. 2011 will be somewhat less about talk and more about action. 2. We ran our first JUMP event in 2010 and will do so again at JUMP 2011. So this trend isn’t going away anytime soon and will continue to be an important focus for all marketers in 2011 and beyond. Interestingly, if anything, 2010 was most interesting to me not for the (obvious and continued) rise of digital as a medium, but for the renaissance of ‘old media’. 3.

Ten tech-enabled business trends to watch - McKinsey Quarterly - High Tech - Strategy & Analysis Two-and-a-half years ago, we described eight technology-enabled business trends that were profoundly reshaping strategy across a wide swath of industries. We showed how the combined effects of emerging Internet technologies, increased computing power, and fast, pervasive digital communications were spawning new ways to manage talent and assets as well as new thinking about organizational structures. Since then, the technology landscape has continued to evolve rapidly. Facebook, in just over two short years, has quintupled in size to a network that touches more than 500 million users. The rapidly shifting technology environment raises serious questions for executives about how to help their companies capitalize on the transformation under way. For the first six trends, which can be applied across an enterprise, it will be important to assign the responsibility for identifying the specific implications of each issue to functional groups and business units. 1. 2.
