Free Fox Sewing Pattern My gosh, where have I been lately? What month is it? June? We moved from Minnesota to Maryland last summer? Yes. So...here we are in Ellicott City. I had to start the kids in one school in September, and then a few weeks later when we finally closed on a house, had to move them to another school. Then just before Thanksgiving, I lost a friend to cancer. All of this is not to say that I stopped making stuff. So I have a lot of stuff in the works, but here's what I've been dabbling with for the past few weeks: Gold dimensional paint. First, there was a jellyfish. We visited the National Aquarium here in Baltimore, and I fell in love with the moon jellies. And then there was a golden longhorn. Again with the blobby paint to highlight the strange characteristics of this animal. I hear they raise ostriches out in West Texas. With semi-grotesquely realistic birdy legs. I also got on a preppy kick and made this striped whale. And an elephant with gold tusks. Of course.

Skort - Skirt - Bodysuit Pattern to Fit AG & 18 Inch Dolls Skort – Skirt – Bodysuit Pattern to Fit American Girl 18 Inch DollsGotz Precious Day and Similar Full Body Dolls Clothes Patterns for 18 Inch Dolls and Bitty Baby Dolls & Costumes WebsiteSusan Helene Kramersusan@susankramer.com Here are instructions for making a one piece bodysuit with attached skirt - making it a skort - to fit 18inch (45cm) American Girl, Gotz Precious Day, and other 18 inch full body dolls with similar body types. The bodysuit can be used as underwear to keep the doll's cloth skin clean as it just covers the cloth parts of the doll. Also it can be made up in print or flowered fabric as light weight summer wear outdoors. Supplies needed: You’ll need one quarter yard (one quarter meter) of material for bodysuit, and one quarter yard (one quarter meter) of material for skirt, which could be a contrasting fabric. Two sticky dots for front shirt and back shirt closing, (no buttons for kids doll clothes, please). Cross grain or satin ribbon for waist and bow. Lace for neck edge.

Inexpensive Ideas for Bitty Babywear Bitty Baby is was dressed for Christmas! Auntie Becca passed on to her niece Mahala her precious Bitty Baby who needed an updated outfit for the season. The American Girl Bitty Babies are one of my very favorite dolls for wee ones I thought I would post my favorite frugal alternative to paying $26.00 per outfit. I buy Child of Mine by Carters Preemie Baby Sleepers in the Infant Department at Walmart. Often I will find the sleepers and other preemie wear for as little as $1.00 an sleeper or outfit on clearance. This Christmas Reindeer sleeper is only $7.00 full price. Little girls will love the cute preemie pink ballet sleepers and appliqued pink pastel monkey sleepers which just came in. I used a remnant of red bump minky blanket material and lined it with a red Christmas flannel to make Bitty a matching blanket. To make a Bitty Baby Blanket Buy a package of Huggies Preemie Diapers for $8.99-$9.99 and use one of the many Huggies coupons to save $$.

Soft Woolen Bunny There is something almost miraculous about sewing a stuffed animal. You start with a bunch of odd shapes that don’t seem to have much to do with one another. Then as you sew them together, they gradually begin to take form, and suddenly, as you turn it right side out and begin stuffing, it comes to life! In my opinion, there is no stuffed animal more inviting than a bunny. This Soft Woolen Bunny is a totally approachable project, even for your first stuffed animal. Once Upon A Blog...: When You Wish Upon A Character... (How Design in Disney Movies Affects the Way Fairy Tales Are Perceived & Why We Should Care) Note: This post is very image heavy and I've had a devil of a time trying to get the images to stick where I put them. As I'm now out of time, I want to apologize in advance if there are any weird formatting issues through the post! For me, I know I just have to catch a glimpse of certain H.J. Ford drawings and I'm in love with that tale all over again. The same goes for Rackham and many other illustrator's fairy tale work. Disney images, however, aren't as subtle as sitting in a book waiting for us to open it again. What is the pop culture impression and what's missing? It's one of the reasons I think it's important for concept art to get out there - to show people what could have been and, if the information is available, why these alternate/early designs were created in the first place and why they were ultimately replaced with something else. What about you? You can see more "what could have beens" of these characters and others at the Buzzfeed post (meme?)
