How to recenser un pamphlet
Sous l’intitulé Malaise dans les musées, Jean Clair publie un essai – en réalité un pamphlet – dans lequel il entend dénoncer les dérives de la politique culturelle française, dont le point ultime serait le projet du Louvre Abu Dabi. Daté « Pentecôte 2007 », l’ouvrage de Jean Clair est comme une réponse à chaud à l’accord signé le 6 mars précédent entre la France et les Emirats Arabes Unis et actant la construction d’un musée universel. Il vient après la parution en décembre 2006, par ses soins, ceux de Françoise Cachin et Roland Recht, d’une tribune dans Le Monde intitulée « Les musées ne sont pas à vendre », point de départ d’une pétition protestant contre ce projet de musée. Evangiles selon Jean Clair Le pamphlet, tout entier porté par le désenchantement, est composé de trois parties. La deuxième partie (« La Vaine Gloire ») dénonce le futur musée du Louvre Abu Dabi.
