Especially when that nasty gremlins try to creep in and stump me. I remembered this origami star video on You Tube and had to get them involved in my plan. I thought it would be fun to make a whole bunch with kind words and “you are….” phrases inside. I made 60 of them, enough to last me the whole year if I open one a week, plus a few extra just in case. I used 12 x 12 inch scrapbook paper and cut 1/2 x 12″ strips, then followed the video HERE*. *UPDATE! Be Sociable, Share!
Geeky Video Game Nail Art - BATH AND BEAUTY Hi everyone! Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I figured that I would share some of the nail art I've done over the past few months. Interpreting video games into manicures has been really fun! These were all painted with a mixture of acrylic craft paint and a whole menagerie of nail polish. The first video game I tackled was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I later went in and added Sonic and Tails. Super Mario 3 was requested, and was painted next. The latest manicure is from Mortal Kombat. I'm always looking for suggestions of different video games to do!

He filled in in with marker, and then we taped some saran wrap around a piece of cardstock to make a run-off barrier for the top of the umbrella. We pulled out all the blues and greys from three boxes we got on sale for $2.50 each at A.C. Then it was just a matter of putting the crayons through the gun–the pretty-but-stupid impulse-buy glue gun that barely works, so I didn’t ruin my good one. Materials Watercolor paper cut into 9″x6.25″ rectangles, folded into cards(size A6: 4.5″x6.25″), 1 per bridesmaidWatercolor paints (the cheap Crayola one will work just fine!) Helpful hints: Using a bone folder to fold the paper is very helpful, since watercolor paper tends to be thicker than printer or scrapbooking paper. Step 1: Cut all of the paper (watercolor and scrapbook) to the sizes indicated above. Step 2: After the design is fully traced onto the card, un-tape and place on your work surface. Share:
Kids favors, heart-shaped crayons - OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS We're having a kids' activity table at our reception for the lil' ones. I'm making wedding coloring "books" for the kids. I bought some little fabric bags that will be on the table for them to toss a few of these crayons into when they leave for the night. Supplies...Crayons (Dollar Tree, $1.00)Heart-shaped foils (Kroger)Cookie sheetOvenLove Unwrap the crayons, arrange in tins however you like... Bake at 200 degrees until you reach a consistency you like. The crayons will seperate as you bake them. All cooled, unwrapped & piled up!
Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies YUM! How good does that sound? And how great do these look! These Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies I found on Sweet Peas Kitchen are addicting! 1/2 cup butter 2-oz dark chocolate, coarsely chopped 1 cup sugar 2 large eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 tsp red food coloring 2/3 cup all purpose flour 1/4 tsp salt 8-oz cream cheese, room temperature 1/3 cup sugar 1 large egg 1/2 tsp vanilla extract Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small, heatproof bowl, melt butter and chocolate together. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and red food coloring. Pour into prepared pan and spread into an even layer. To prepare cheesecake mixture, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla extract in a medium bowl until smooth. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until brownies and cheesecake are set. Let cool completely in pan on a cooling rack before lifting out the parchment paper to remove the brownies. Folk Art Papercuts by Suzy Taylor pumpkin book *tute added* pic heavy I made this using an old star trek book! I used a wooden pumpkin for a template and cut the pages with a blade. I'm going to make another one and I'll post a tute. Here's the tute I put together. First off, gather your supplies: - book for dismembering, paperbacks are great- template (I made half an apple out of a thick piece of chipboard)- exacto knife with a very sharp blade- clips- glue stick- snot dots- ink or paint for coloring and something to apply it with- anything you want to decorate with. Step 1 My paperback book was too thick so I split it in half using my blade. Step 2 Lay the template down on the book and cut the pages around the template. Step 3 Remove the cut paper leaving the template in place. Step 4 Once the book is cut, trim any rough edges you don't want. Step 5 For color, I used ink refill and diluted it a bit because I wanted it to soak in to the paper. Step 6 Step 7 Once the book is dry you will need to stretch the spine so it opens. Peter Callesen Little House Brooches I'm a doodler. If I'm not actually crafting something, I usually have paper in front of me and I'm sketching and doodling away. Last night my weekend was officially over, when our weekend house guests left, leaving me alone for the first time in days. Sitting at my desk I just started drawing some little askew houses. Well, one thing lead to another, and before I knew it, I had designed 6 little houses, sized to fit on a brooch. Of course, like any applique designs, they can be enlarged or reduced to meet your needs, but I thought these would make adorable Christmas gifts for friends. Materials: felt scraps embroidery floss thin batting finding (pin for back) 3 - 4 copies of Pattern Directions: Make several copies of the pattern. Choose your design and cut it out. Using multiple copies of the pattern cut out 2 backgrounds and the individual pieces. Cut out 2 layers of thin batting. Lay the pieces of batting on the back piece of felt, centering the batting. Your brooch is now done!
