Pleated Zippered Pouch Lined Zippered Pouch How To Make A Gathered Zippered Pouch Materials needed: 1/4 yard each of three coordinating fabrics (you’ll definitely have scraps leftover)8″ zipper (you can always purchase a longer zipper and shorten it, just follow the directions on the packagescraps of medium weight fusible interfacing Cutting the pieces: For the main exterior, cut two pieces, one 5.5″ tall by 9″ wide, and one 5.5″ tall by 13″ wide (this will be the gathered front) Pieces of medium weight fusible interfacing for exterior pieces of clutch: (2) 5.5″ tall by 9″ wide For the front band, cut one piece 4″ tall by 9″ wide. Turn tube right side out and press with seam in the middle. Grab the 13″ wide main exterior piece.

Whatever we call it, I’m sure you’ll agree that this owl tutorial from MOONSTITCHES is just so adorable and that you’ll want to snap it up and hug it and squeeze it and make a million of little owls. I know I do….I want to make my own adorable stuffed owl army! Alex from MOONSTICHES put together this really well done tutorial, which was inspired from a pattern she found in a book (info on the front page of the tutorial). Since Alex does not share the pattern from the book, you can buy the book (although it’s in Japanese) or come up with your own pattern and use Alex’s tutorial as an inspiration for your own owl. How to make a notepad Here is a simple little project to turn that awesome Mom’s Got A Latte Do Today List into a magnetic notepad that would make a cute gift! You can actually buy a special glue for making notepads called padding compound . I was not able to find it anywhere locally so I tried silicone sealant (found at Wal-Mart or a home improvement store) and had great results. To make these fun notepads you will need: two clamps two pieces of wood 100% silicone sealant cardboard for the backing (I used a cereal box) paper for your notepad (I made 12 copies of the download so my pad had 24 sheets) Cut the paper and cardboard to the desired size. Once silicone is completely dry remove from clamps. The sheets tear beautifully from the pad. Add a magnet to the back of the notepad and you have a great magnetic notepad for your refrigerator.

If you are unlike me and can’t imagine painting your walls with chalkboard paint, you might fancy a vinyl chalkboard. I am sure most of you have seen the vinyl companies out there that provide all kids of custom graphics and text for your walls and other surfaces. Did you know you can buy sheets of vinyl? Supplies: 1 sheet of chalkboard vinyl Exacto Knife Letter decals scissors cup (if you want rounded edges) Cute masking tape (to tape it if you aren’t ready to apply it to the surface) Chalkboard Marker Step 1: Use a cup to trace rounded corners Step 2: Cut the rounded corners Step 3: Apply letter decals to create the words you want permanently on your chalkboard Now you can apply it to your surface for a very simple, clean chalkboard. Optional Steps: Step 4: Using an Exacto Knife (that is very sharp) cut out the design of your choice.
How About Orange Here's a look at our upstairs guest bathroom. Last night I covered an accent wall with removable wallpaper. I love it! This bathroom has a peculiar layout. The kind folks at Walls Need Love sent the product to review. Like the Sunburst wallpaper I designed last year, this paper is essentially a giant self-adhesive wall decal, and it's easily to peel off and reposition. I measured the wall and cut a length of paper that would leave a little extra overhang at the bottom. After a couple tries I had it, and then it was just a matter of peeling off the backing paper gradually while smoothing down the paper with the tool provided. I cut another piece to place next to the first panel, overlapping the seam by a quarter inch to match the pattern. Then with a craft knife and straight edge, I trimmed off any overhang that wrapped onto the adjacent walls and baseboard. This stuff is really forgiving if you accidentally get it stuck to itself.
Wire & Paper Envelope Book A Basic Envelope Book Materials Needed: To create a basic envelope book you will need: 4 envelopes all the same size2 pieces of plain cardstock cut to the same size as the envelopesPatterned scrapbook papers to cover the cardA piece of cardstock as wide as the envelopes and 12" longA length of ribbon Cover the plain cardstock with the patterned scrapbook paper, snipping the corners to get a neater finish. Fold the long piece of cardstock accordion style. Lay the ribbon across the centre of both covers, tape down to stabilize if necessary and glue the spine in place. Cover the inside front cover with patterned scrapbook paper and an envelope to the back cover. It's up to you whether to cut the flaps off or leave them on -- either way looks good.

I thought it would be fun to make a whole bunch with kind words and “you are….” phrases inside. I made 60 of them, enough to last me the whole year if I open one a week, plus a few extra just in case.
