Vocabulary Catcher – A Series of Free Vocabulary Apps for iPad Over the weekend I stumbled upon Vocabulary Catcher 3 for iPad. I quickly realized that Vocabulary Catcher 3 is part of a series of free vocabulary apps for children. The Vocabulary Catcher series contains six free apps. Each of the apps follows the same model. Students read and hear a word then have to “pop” the balloon containing the object that represents the word they heard. Students earn points based on their accuracy and their speed. Vocabulary Catcher 1 is about numbers, colors, and fruit. The Vocabulary Catcher apps aren’t the fanciest apps in the App Store, but I think that some pre-K students could benefit from using them.
