If you are new here, you might want to <a href=" rel="nofollow">subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.

My sister-in-law is a librarian in Allen ISD, in Texas, and has been updating her webpage on the school’s website with new content. Fortunately, Google Reader can create a special web feed for sites like this. Now I’m subscribed to her page, even though it’s not technically “a blog” since it lacks a web feed. If you’re shopping for a content management system or learning management system for your school / school district, make sure it supports web feeds.

A special Fashion Rio runway show was held, using 2002 World Cup winners Cafu and Juliano Belletti, Victoria's Secret model Lais Ribeiro, World Cup draw presenter Fernanda Lima and several actual volunteers as models. From 150,000 applicants, organizers selected 14,000 volunteers who will be spread out across the 12 hosts cities during the tournament. And since the climates of these cities can be very different, the clothing and supplies provided to the volunteers varies depending on where they will be working. From FIFA.com:

My teachers graded printouts and the idea of collaborating with my classmates on a project anytime, anywhere just wasn’t possible. Not to mention, we didn’t have a computer at home and working on the Internet was still a pipe dream for a middle schooler. Things have changed since I was in middle school of course, and there are people working hard to bring technology into classrooms to help students learn and teachers teach. Starting today, the Oregon Department of Education will offer Google Apps to all the school districts in the state — helping teachers, staff and students use Gmail, Docs, Sites, Video, Groups and more within their elementary, middle and high schools. With Google Apps, students in Oregon can build websites or email teachers about a project.
