The best new recipes from Smitten Kitchen | punchfork.com Lemon-Basil Ricotta Stuffed Shells in a Champagne Cream Sauce: Can you EVEN believe I almost forgot to share with you this delicious baked pasta recipe? It was back in November when I made this pasta… and I remember the day perfectly… It was real sunny. POW {that’s the sound it makes in my brain when a recipe happens}! Please don’t think I ran out and bought champagne. Butter a baking dish and set aside. On the large holes of your box grater; shred a cup of Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese. Season the ricotta with a little extra salt and pepper if you haven’t already. Combine half of the pecorino with the ricotta and set aside. Measure out 3/4 cup of champagne. Cook the pasta just short of al dente in salted water. Drain and spread them out onto a rimmed sheet pan or some parchment paper. Stuff each shell with some of the cheese and place them in your prepared dish. In a small sauce pan, melt three tablespoons of butter and add some finely minced garlic. Whisk until the garlic softens and is fragrant but not brown. Then pour in the champagne… Ingredients:

Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread I’m sorry. I know it’s Monday morning and you probably came here for some pretty pictures of food that you could glance at, and then move on with your day… and here I go thrusting warm, soft cinnamon sugar bread in your face. It’s not fair. I know it’s not fair. I know that now you’re craving cinnamon rolls, and cream cheese frosting and chili fries and hot dogs. I am too… and I already ate half of this warm bread. You don’t deserve this sort of torture. This bread hits all the comfort spots in my soul. I’m sorry and you’re welcome and I love you. Let’s start at the beginning. I did this all without the use of a stand mixer and dough hook. This dough can be made and left to rise , then refrigerated overnight for use in the morning. This is the dough just before it’s left to rise. After the dough has rested and risen for an hour, I knead it in a few tablespoons of flour. This is the part in the bread process where you can wrap the dough and place it in the fridge to rest overnight.
Cook-Air delivers 1,100 degrees of meat-searing, wood-smoking grill top - Images The Cook-Air gains its power from a combination of a wood fire and a five-speed electric ventilator that literally fans the flames. Cata Marketing, Inc., the company that sells the grill, says that it only takes a small piece of wood to start a roaring grill fire. While grilling is a matter of personal preference that will be debated until the end of time, wood fire is often considered the most flavorful type of grilling thanks to the rich, smoky taste that it imparts on your food. The product is more versatile than other electric-powered grills thanks to its multiple charging options. You can power it with an AC adapter for home use, a car adapter for use at tailgates or other vehicle-based events, or with eight D batteries for use away from the car and home. The Cook-Air's five fan speeds let you adjust output based on what you're cooking, much like you'd do with a gas grill. The grill is made from stainless steel and weighs around 17 lbs (7.7 kg). Filet Mignon with Red Wine Sauce Recipe Have you ever noticed how crowded restaurants are on Valentine’s Day? Every table is a two-top, the menus are often fixed, and the staff frantically busy. After several misfires over the last few years, I’ve given up with going out that night, and instead focus on lovely dishes we can make at home. Here is a classic date night meal—filet mignon in a red wine reduction. Filet mignon is a steak cut from the tenderloin, a missile shaped muscle which lays beneath the ribs, right along the backbone. To prepare filet mignon, either you are going to buy the steaks already prepped, or you have a large beef tenderloin, from which you cut the steaks. Here’s a whole beef tenderloin, and where the chain muscle is attached to it. Trim away the ends of the tenderloin and any silver skin. Think about how well done you would like your steaks and how thick they are. Here’s an example of butterflying a thick filet mignon into a heart shape. Ingredients Method
General Tso’s Chicken This recipe for General Tso's chicken has been the most popular on this site since I first posted it in 2009. Month after month it continues to be the most viewed and searched for recipe here. I love that so many of you, presumably, have visited on a mission to replicate this tasty dish from a favorite take-out. Over the past few months, I've been testing and retesting this recipe for my cookbook, and want to share a new revised version. The biggest improvement is in the frying process. (Update: If you've enjoyed this General Tso's Chicken recipe, check out many more Chinese restaurant favorites in my new cookbook The Chinese Takeout Cookbook: Quick and Easy Dishes to Prepare at Home.) Almost nobody in Hunan has ever heard of General Tso's Chicken, the most famous Hunan dish in America. You may know the dish as General Tsuo's, or Tzo's or Tao's or some other variation.
