Photography Tutorial: A Quick Guide to Understanding Your DSLR Camera Hi guys! With Labor Day weekend coming up, I know a lot of us are going to be out there taking pictures! :) Since we have a long weekend to practice, I wanted to share with you this basic intro to SLR photography. If you have an SLR camera and are nervous to take it out of auto mode, this is the tutorial for you. Left: Canon T2i. To start, let’s put your camera in Aperture Priority mode or Shutter Priority mode. 1. Let’s talk a little bit about Aperture. Photos taken with a low aperture let in more light, allowing you to take pictures in situations where there is not much light (like indoors and at night). A low aperture will also give you a shallow depth of field. Canon 50mm f/1.8 f/1.8 1/200 sec ISO 800 In the photo above, the aperture was set to 1.8, a low aperture. Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 f/16 1/60 sec ISO 100 In this picture, the aperture was set to 16, a high aperture, allowing everything to be in focus. Now you try! Set your aperture. Left: Canon XSi. 2. 3. 4. 5. You’re almost there!

Dozens of tutorials on how to crack WEP are already all over the internet using this method. Seriously—Google it. Unless you’re a computer security and networking ninja, chances are you don’t have all the tools on hand to get this job done. * A compatible wireless adapter—This is the biggest requirement. * A BackTrack 3 Live CD. * A nearby WEP-enabled Wi-Fi network. * Patience with the command line. To crack WEP, you’ll need to launch Konsole, BackTrack’s built-in command line. First run the following to get a list of your network interfaces: The only one I’ve got there is labeled ra0. Now, run the following four commands. {*style:airmon-ng stop (interface) ifconfig (interface) down macchanger –mac 00:11:22:33:44:55 (interface) airmon-ng start (interface) *} Now it’s time to pick your network. The Photojojo Store! - the Most Awesome Photo Gifts and Gear for Photographers Upgrade Your MacBook Pro's Hard Drive - The First Steps - How To by ExtremeTech It might seem incredible, but today Apple only sells a single MacBook Pro that still uses a hard drive. As of Apple’s update in October, all of the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros — aside from the single non-Retina display model — have all moved over to solid-state storage. And that lone 13-inch MBP, with its 500GB 5400 RPM hard drive is clearly not long for this world. At $1200 the last-man-standing non-Retina Pro is only $100 cheaper than the next model up and it lacks both the Flash storage and high-resolution display that make the new MBP so good. If you’re here you’re probably not in the market for a new MacBook Pro. You likely have an aging laptop that you’re trying to breath some life into. Even if you wouldn’t think twice about cracking open a desktop to drop in a new video card, you might pass on doing anything with a laptop — their cramped interiors and specialized hardware are instant turn-offs. Don’t let that stand in your way. Since this story first ran in 2007(!)
