Por ellos los babilonios idearon una manera más eficiente dividiendo el ángulo llano en tres partes iguales, a cada una de estas partes la subdividieron en 60 partes más y es lo que se conocen como los grados, luego a los grados los subdividieron en 60 partes más y es lo que se conocen como minutos y por último a cada minuto lo dividieron nuevamente en 60 partes iguales y es lo que conocemos como segundos.
