#1 I made this design for my favorite film of the year, Mark Romanek's NEVER LET ME GO, a few months ago after I saw the film. I actually really liked the original poster, a dreamy photo of Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan running down a pier (a location in the movie, although we don't see this moment in the film), and I remembered one of my favorite shots of the three main characters looking out to the sea together. If you've seen the film, it's a key scene... maybe THE key scene in the whole film, and this image which I simply speckled up and stylized ever so slightly from Romanek's original frame (shot by cinematographer Adam Kimmel) seemed to represent perfectly so much about this film and story. I can't remember a time in which I was more disappointed and confused about a film not finding an audience. There are so many reasons that this movie should have been seen by a wide group of people, and for whatever reason it wasn't. A few other notes on 2010.

It was a complete labor of love to turn it into her personal shabby-chic retreat. She lives, with her husband, across the river in their 1971 mobile home that does include a bath and kitchen, but this place is truly inspiring. She did the renovation of this old hunting cabin and furnished it herself for $3,000. She transformed the 9 x 14 cabin into a beautiful Victorian cottage, a space all for herself. She used vintage columns that cost $60 each and floorboards for the exterior facade and wavy glass windows.

Cinematography by Maiko Takeda Here is something that really caught our eye! London based designer, Maiko Takeda’s ‘Cinematography’ Collection takes jewellery to a whole new edge where shadows speak for themselves. The collection consists of simple geometrical shapes with immaculate forms where as light shines through it, unexpected motifs appear on the body, playing the main character, jewellery.

White Golden Rings with Uncut Rough Diamonds: Low-key Luxuriance Posted on January 5, 2010 by saya Had not been told that the black/white/yellow stuff set into the 10 carat white gold ring is an uncut rough diamond, possibly nobody would recognize its true value. And that seems more or less the same as the process we look for the true love—we met somebody, came to know him/her, took him/her as our best friend, and years later we realized he/she was rightly the person we’d been looking for. So in my mind, no rings would present love better than the one designed by Sruli Recht.
