Recent acquisitions include a dramatic 17th-century Italian Baroque painting, The Entombment, by Luca Giordano, a celebrated view of the Erie Canal by 19th-century painter George Harvey and a beautifully decorated suit of etched armor made in Germany in the 16th century.

Corsair Welcome The Demuth Museum - Home Impressionist Art Gallery The National Portrait Gallery College - Museum of Art News We are very pleased that Roy Young, Curator of Education at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Fallingwater in southern PA, is teaching a course in Museum and Community Partnering for Juniata College during the Fall semester, 2013. In the course, students learn to identify a unique quality or attribute of the Museum’s Collection and combine this with a need in the Huntingdon community, to create an equitable partnership with a local organization. "Minna Citron: The Uncharted Course from Realism to Abstraction", an exhibition developed by JCMA curator Jennifer Streb in collaboration with the artist's granddaughter, Christiane H. The Juniata Museum of Art recieved a 2011 Heritage Preservation Grant that will allow the museum to participate in the Conservation Assessment Program (CAP). Heritage Preservation is a national non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of the United States.

Reference staff responds to inquiries by telephone, mail, and e-mail. Researchers may request materials through the library's online catalogue and consult these materials in the reading room only. The library contains a wide-ranging collection of more than 400,000 books, periodicals, and documents on the history, theory, and criticism of art and architecture. Other strengths of the collection include monographs on individual artists as well as international exhibition, museum, and private collection catalogues. The department of image collections is recognized as one of the largest and most important visual archives in the world. Hours Monday, noon to 4:30 p.m.
