Grace Johnson - Tumblr My first attempt at TweetChat could probably be compared to my first day here at Newhouse: scary and overwhelming. The first issue I found was how unorganized it seemed to be. I understand that there is a moderator available to facilitate the flow of conversation, but at around 20+ people, the moderator became ineffective. My computer continuously flooded with ten to fifteen new tweets at once to answer people’s questions about Klout. I found myself struggling to follow one string of questions to another, and was even too overwhelmed to ask one myself. Blog Post Length: Does Size Really Matter? When it comes to blog post length, many bloggers wonder whether size really matters. They ask how long should my blog posts be in hopes of getting an immutable rule that’ll never fail. The more accurate response is that what works for a specific post on a given blog depends on the audience, the post topic, and the blog category. Actually the best answer is Joe Pulizzi’s twenty-three word post, A blog post is like a miniskirt. Unfortunately, most bloggers are looking for more precise guidance.

Jaclyn Slovic - Tumblr So we’ve been examining all the ways people can measure us based on our social media impact. So I’m happy to turn the tables and give my opinion on social media apps. After testing out six social media management apps, I have decided that HootSuite fits me the best, by far. Here’s why: TweetDeck: Frustrating for the non-savvy-social-media user like me. I was not keen on downloading an app to my desktop when my computer’s already slow enough. How Much For That Motorcycle In The Window? Inside eBay's Physical Push For Mobile Sales The goods artfully arranged in certain windows along Park Avenue advertise "The Inspiration Shop," but you won't find them in any actualy stores nearby. They're eBay's latest attempt to drive use of their mobile apps. The windows are festooned with flair by design star Jonathan Adler--but they're also tattooed with QR codes that take any shopper with a smartphone scanner to custom eBay landing pages that offer for sale products similar to those in the window. Soon, Google to give search results from minute old events! - Yahoo! London, Nov 5 (ANI): An Indian born software engineer at Google Inc. has announced that the company will now provide search results from the most recent events and hot topics. The company has taken up the steps in response to the increasing use of Twitter and Facebook as a source of breaking news, the Telegraph reported. It says that around 35 per cent of searches will be affected, and results will now include pages that are just minutes old if the company's algorithm detects that the most recent information is the most relevant. "Given the incredibly fast pace at which information moves in today's world, the most recent information can be from the last week, day or even minute, and depending on the search terms, the algorithm needs to be able to figure out if a result from a week ago about a TV show is recent, or if a result from a week ago about breaking news is too old," the company's Amit Singhal wrote on the Google Search Blog. "Different searches have different freshness needs.
