February, 2014 Since I posted about the " 20 online museums for teachers and students " I received several emails with links, apps, tools and more tips related to educational virtual field trips. One of the links I got included this wonderful guide I am sharing with you below created by Silvia Rosenthal from Langwitches. The guide is about how to frame a virtual field trip using Google Earth. Being able to frame your field trip enables you to take your students into an education virtual learning trip in which they will engage in authentic and experiential learning. Using Google images, you can take an image and use it as a search. The results to this search will show similar pictures and will also show sites that have the same picture. This way, you can find the site that your picture originated from. If you search the tracking number of a package shipped by Fedex, UPS, or USPS in Google, you can get a quick update of where your package is. If you simply search "weather in Salt Lake City" for example, you can get instant updates on the weather wherever you are. You can get definitions for any word instantly by simply typing "define" then the word. By simply typing "movie" into Google, you can get movies near you.

If I make a spelling mistake is a search, such as spelling search "serch" then Google will automatically fix it, and search for "search". Things that do NOT affect a query Capitalization, and most special characters do not affect a query, if I try to search "€ 2010", then my query will return the results for "2010". Putting "Define" before a search term will result in Google attempting to define the term that follows.
